Demaine supported us to the fullest extent, from the day we first met with Claudia Vincent (funeral director) through follow-up after the celebration of the passing of my sister-in-law. Claudia introduced us to the process and very capably supported us throughout planning and preparation for what turned out to be an appropriately wonderful event. We highly recommend Demaine!

My family has used Domains for both of my parents. When the time came for my husband. I choose Domains. Robert Simms passed away in a very good nursing home in Ashland , Virginia. I live in Richmond VA. We chose Domains above all of the funeral homes between here and there the last time I saw my Bobby alive he was thin blue gray in color. When I saw him at Domains. He looked like he had been out in the gardened and fresh shower. Bobby looked strong. The muscle in his arm was strong again. The ringer finger was back to the size 11. For the first time in over a year . I could put his wedding ring. Back on his ring finger. Bobby was in his jeans, flannel shirt, t shirt and his favorite drinks.

My parents passed within two weeks of each other. Demaine was the most respectful, nicest organization to deal with. There was never any sort of “selling” going on, just helping us understand what our options were. All the staff were patient, compassionate, and made things easy for us, and the facility was always set up flawlessly for our wakes and services. The memorial displays they set up for us with personal items we supplied were not something we had considered, but once we saw them we were amazed at how lovely and comforting they were. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Death is hard. Having had a family member in eminent danger of passing, we contacted multiple funeral homes in the area. Some funeral homes would not even put the funeral director on the phone. Others wouldn’t give us pricing. Finally, we approached Demaine Funeral home in Alexandria. We were put in touch with George Rivera. From the first conversation with him, we realized he was the person we wanted to handle the details. His knowledge of the process and his willingness to make himself available to answer any questions we had was impressive. His compassion, and kind words were a comfort to us during this difficult time. When our loved one passed, the representatives who took our loved one to their facilities were very gentle and considerate. Mr Rivera stayed in contact with us sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. He answered all our text messages and emails almost immediately. Since our loved one was going overseas, Mr Rivera made arrangements to go to the Department of Health for the certificates, to the Ethiopian embassy to complete needed documentation and to the Ethiopian Airlines office to complete all necessary documents. After our loved one went home, Demaine realized that the amount charged by the airline was less than the quote, they refunded the difference. Demaine Funeral home was not the cheapest funeral home out there but they were the ones that listened to us, answered our questions and fixed any issues that arose.

Absolute pleasure working with George and Claudia as they guided us through arrangements my Uncle had made with the funeral home prior to his passing. They were kind, caring, supportive and extremely helpful. The level of service provided and professionalism demonstrated exceeded my expectations. So very grateful that my family and I had the opportunity to meet and work with George and Claudia as our experience was completely stress free and pleasant.
