Normally, I don’t like posting google reviews. However, this review is a definite MUST. My family and I would like to give a HUGE thank you to the staff at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Suitland, MD. First, I would like to start with Mr. Charles Smith (Supervisor) who went above and beyond to ensure our family was taken care of properly. I explained to Charles the issues we were experiencing (since 2020) and he immediately stepped in and reassured me that it would be handled and he would expedite the process. Honestly, initially, I wasn’t convinced given the fact this had been a long back and forth process, but he gave me his word. Where I come from, your word is your bond. And to my surprise he was a man of his word and DELIVERED. Jesus, won’t He do it! When I said to him that I don’t know how to thank you as it doesn’t seem like enough his response was “I just want to serve the families”. Now, that’s true leadership at its finest. I truly believe if it wasn’t for Charles Smith stepping in this would have never come to fruition. Secondly, the office staff follow-up. I received a call from Mr. Kevin Gentry who was checking in to confirm our satisfaction with the new/replacement headstone. He asked if there was anything that did not meet our expectations and assured me that any concerns would be handled. Then Ms. Bonnie Thompson (Lovely Lady) reached out to confirm the exact headstone (went as far as to email me a photo) explained to me that the she would ensure the installation take place the week. At that time, I asked her if I could be there on site during the installation. She wasn’t sure, but she tracked down the supervisor, Carlos, and he made arrangements for that to happen. Please note that all of this was done in one day and she kept me updated every step of the way. This is the type of Exceptional customer service that we need more of. Next Level! Thirdly, I would like to thank the cemetery staff Carlos (Supervisor), Sean, and Jorge (backhoe driver) for accommodating me and allowing me to witness the removal and replacement of our family’s headstone. As you can imagine this is sacred ground, and the level of detailed care and respect these guys performed was so heartwarming and amazing that it gave me butterflies (teary eyes) and a sense of gratitude the way they honored our loved ones. It was truly a sight to see which I had to video. When I offered the gentlemen a tip which was the least, I could do, they refused and declined the offer. They said that it wasn’t about the money that this was their job. They do it for the families. I mean they are truly an ASSET and JEWEL to Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Finally, there are no words adequate enough to express my family’s heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff and Lincoln Memorial Cemetery for ensuring our family was well taken care of and completely satisfied. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. JOB WELL DONE!! May God continue to bless each and every one of you with His grace and mercy. Flora Duncan-Lawson & Family

The people at Cedar Hill Funeral Home are so sensitive, kind and so well suited for the job at hand. Everyone from the caretakers to the embalmers to the personnel that help you with purchasing your plot. I especially had the privilege of working with Mrs. Dee Brown regarding possible transfer of my plot. I'm amazed the sensitivity and professionalism of the staff at Cedar Hill. You all are meant to be where you are. Thank you for being there for me and my family.

Ms. Paulette Jones On my darkest day, I had to bury my only child. I found her to be such a warm, caring, and helpful representative towards my loss. She made me feel she understood my pain and she was comforting to me. She made sure that I understood everything that was going on, and I was at ease. I never thought I would have to go through this, but Ms. Jones, expertise and compassion surpass. her title as a Service Counselor. To this, she calls to see how I am doing. I would highly recommend her services in such a difficult time. Please pass this to her and her supervisor and the chief manager of Cedar Hill Cemetery at 4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Suitland, MD. Thank you Adrianne “Celeste”

Lots of interesting architectural things to see especially the concrete structures made to look like they're made of wood. Also some Victorian oddities like Annie Laurie's Wishing Chair. It would be nice to have a map of the grounds.

Giving CREDIT where CREDIT IS DUE!!!! I wasn’t pleased some time ago. This parental visit to my Mom’s graveside was very good. She raised me to be honest and that’s why I must report that Management has been repairing & upgrading the CEDAR HILL CEMETERY!!!! Thanks for this amazing response to what I had written below some time ago. 👏😇 I now cringe at the thought, that one day I will be buried @ Cedar Hill Cemetery. When my mother, grandfather and myself bought plots approximately 1988 it wasn’t in this state of disrepair. As I drive through the whole cemetery dodging BIG crater holes on the road, so much standing water problems, un raked leaves and BIG fallen branches all over the place. It represents HELL. My mother and grandfather are buried here as well as, other good people who paid good money and deserve to be represented in DEATH better than this.
