This is the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial right after National Police Week. One of the most moving memorials in Washington, DC.
Seeing thousands of names engraved in stone was a powerful reminder that each represents a life dedicated to serving others. This memorial brings the focus back to the individuals and families behind the badge.
A truly meaningful experience in our nation’s capital.

I am a member of Law Enforcement United the Ruff Ride. We rode our bicycles to the K-9 memorial service to honor K-9'S that lost their lives while on duty to pay our respects to the K-9's, their handlers, and Agency.

Beautiful memorial. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to find the panels: look at the left and right edge of the glass tops on the directory boxes and you will see blue engravings to show you panel section numbers. The website has a search feature that is easier to use than the paper directories on site. Pencil and paper are available for rubbings.

Brings a tear to your eyes to realize that many officers have made the ultimate sacrifice. Construction was going on to add more space. Take a moment and reflect.

A beautiful memorial that has many services ongoing, honoring police officers in every sense. The tribute was so solemn and powerful, seeing those grieving their family members was wretched to the heart. Whether you are one of the family members or friends of those who have lost their lives coming to honor them, this is an amazing exhibit regardless to visit and honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
