The nurses and staff do not receive enough credit for their kindness, compassion, and service to their patients and families. My grandmother unexpectedly had to go into hospice care, and while it was an extremely difficult time for our family, we had peace of mind knowing that she was receiving the support when she needed it the most. I want to thank you all from my bottom of my heart. During this difficult time, you made it as peaceful as it could have been.

Can't even control the temperature in the rooms. Instead it's controlled centrally and no one at the facility has any power to change it apparently. So at a place that bills itself as being all about "comfort", you and your loved one will likely be uncomfortable from being either too hot or too cold. Also the food is terrible. Especially if you're coming from Mayo hospital and are used to their food, this will be a huge step down. There is no monitoring of your loved one except for a nurse coming into the room every few hours. No continuous monitoring that can be seen from a central nurses' station (like in a hospital). So if something happens (like the oxygen supply hose suddenly becoming disconnected from the wall supply, as happened while I was there), and your loved one is no longer receiving oxygen, no nurse will know and so no relief will be given to your loved one. This is essentially a place where patients are hidden away behind closed doors to die with no support or even comfort except for regular morphine doses to numb their suffering. Nothing to prevent new causes of suffering (like anticoagulation to prevent blood clots), no nutritonal support like IV fluids or dextrose (so your loved one slowly dehydrates and starves). If you have the option to do hospice care in Mayo, where your loved one will actually receive these supportive measures and be closely monitored by a nurse, do it. Do NOT come here.

I am so grateful for the supportive staff from housekeeping to the medical staff and support team. You truly are gifts used by a Loving God for all that are in need and their families. Thank you again.

Several years ago my sister was placed in hospice at the McGraw Center. What we witnessed there was amazing in how they cared for her during her last days. 8 years later, when it became apparent that our Mother needed hospice, we asked again for the McGraw Center. The attention, care and empathy the staff exhibited for my Mom and our family was beyond our expectations. She was there for only a few days before she passed, but the nursing staff (Tania, Lavern and Rose on the day shift) and Melissa (?) on the night shift assured us that Mom was getting the care that she needed. She left this world pain free and we will forever be grateful to the McGraw Center for providing that for her.

My mother passed in the McGraw Center for Caring and had a wonderful experience. Even though she knew she was passing, it was the place she wanted to be. She thought her room was beautiful and that it felt like home. I liked that it was a dedicated facility, not a hospice floor in a larger hospital. She liked touring the pathways and looking at the plants and flowers as we pushed her in her wheel chair. The staff is very caring and went out of their way to ensure we and my mother were supported. I was able to work out of a private meeting room to take business calls and attend meetings while there. After a direct conversation, the kitchen was very accommodating to her unique dietary requests. Highly recommend this facility.
