Ivy at Lake Merritt has been an absolute blessing in a way I never could have imagined. After caring for my mom at home for three years, placing her in memory care was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever faced. I never imagined I would feel this much peace, and even joy, on the other side of it. The facility is beautiful, but more importantly, it is filled with genuine love. The staff does not just care for the residents, they truly connect with them and with the families. You can feel it the moment you walk in. I have not seen my mom this alive and happy in years. She dances when music plays, laughs freely, and even pulls others into the joy with her. I have had other residents’ spouses stop me just to tell me how much joy she brings, and that says everything. This place is rare. Our hearts are full, and I am so deeply grateful. I also found it helpful to know that the community has been under new management for the past few months. Our experience reflects the care, attention, and heart that is clearly present today.

My wife and I recently visited this community for a tour and I have all great things to report. The staff is very attentive to the care and well being of the residents. They have a clean and well maintained community that is the best I’ve seen. The Chef on staff is amazing and so is the food. I met the Executive Director Daniela who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the community at Ivy Park at Lake Merritt. The area is overlooking the lake which is home to nice tall oak trees and beautiful birds who add lots to a peaceful environment for your Loved one! I highly recommend this community!

When I took my wife to Lakeside Park, I was generally very happy with them. The front line staff, reception, custodians & caregivers were absolutely wonderful. Management was pretty good. Under the new management, they are TERRIBLE! The biggest issue is they deactivated our passes that got us in the parking garage, then through the walk through FIRE DOOR & on to the elevator whe departing. Now they let in the garage after pushing a doorbell h waiting (which is ok) but now the FIRE DOOR IS ILLEGALLY PROPPED OPEN ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!! In the event of a fire, this exposes residents, employees & visitors to extreme danger! Not to mention a steady flow of exhaust fumes! I discussed this matter with management & they made it clear that they couldn't care less. They have the same attitude toward all other concerns I raised & other visitors have raised. They seem to not understand how stressful & difficult a time this is for us. If my wife weren't so close to death, I'd be morally compelled to relocate her. I would strongly recommend finding a better place for your loved one as this new management is more callous than I could have imagined!

It was a hellsh experience for Mom there - no security, she was assaulted and had many intrusios by demented people into her room. Diet was not what was required and there was litle in the was of rehab. She has a good pension but it is so expensive it sucked up all her savings and luckily she was able to escape to live with family.
