The staff at Rock Creek Cemetery, particularly Brandon Hickson-Hamilton, took such good care of us. We were treated with respect and kindness and patience throughout the pre-planning, and when the funeral came, it went very smoothly. Brandon added some special unexpected touches that made everything feel more personal. The cemetery is beautiful and is a pleasure to visit.

My great grandmother purchased multiple plots nearly 80+ years ago. Our complicated family tree means that various relatives can make a claim to be buried in this lovely spot for our clan. It's been complicated to prove my right to be buried there, and a very patient Brandon Hickson-Hamilton was so so helpful collecting the proper paperwork helping me to prove my rights as an heir to a spot. He is very switched on, and I would imagine quite helpful and kind to those dealing with immediate needs to organize their burial in this historic cemetery. Brandon gets 5 stars from me on his administrative skills and ability to move things along in what can be a painful exercise.

The cemetery is serene & classic — full of history & beauty… My father was laid to rest here… His funeral was smoothly conducted with great respect, efficiency, and solemnity… Brandon our host was excellent & knowledgeable… A special place with personal care… Thank you for welcoming us through a difficult process..

This is an outstanding cemetery. The funerary art on display across the well preserved array of graves was to die for (sorry). The grounds are well maintained and they have MANY notable people buried there. This a historical treasure and one of the most aesthetically pleasing cemeteries I've visited. My one suggestion for improvement is more visitor services support for historically inclined visitors. They do have a map available at the visitor center that had the rough locations of some notable graves but it didn't do a great job of helping actually find graves. Find a Grave app is a necessary companion. Still, this place is fantastic. Go!

I visited Rock Creek after spending several crowded days at the Smithsonian, and was double struck by the peacefulness of this cemetery. The grounds are lovely and in April there were many trees and shrubs in blossom. I spent a couple hours there on a Sunday morning and was surprised at the paucity of visitors.
