After the passing of my father, Howard LeCompte Sr., on May 9th, Christine Guerrero went above and beyond to support my family. She was incredibly responsive, even emailing me at 10 PM to ensure all our questions were answered. With 10 years of experience, Christine is deeply passionate about her work. She brought genuine comfort and care to our family during our worst moments. People like her are rare, and she is a true asset to this industry. Thank you so much, Christine—you are a rock star!

Our initial impression was genuinely great. We met with Brittany, who was wonderful and made us feel confident that everything would be okay during a very difficult time. She told us we could reach out anytime with questions, which gave us a lot of comfort.
A few days later, I reached out with some questions and didn’t hear back. After several days of silence, we called and were told—without any prior notice—that Brittany was no longer with the company and we would now be working with someone else. We emailed the new contact and again received no response. I called back, explained the situation, and was given yet another person to work with… who also didn’t respond.
At this point I was extremely frustrated and had to call again, very upset, just to get someone on the phone. We eventually got some resolution, and I later discovered that part of the phone tag issue was on my end due to unknown numbers being blocked. Even so, I still had to repeatedly reach out to get basic updates, which added unnecessary stress during an already emotional time.
Another major issue was the day of the service. We were told exactly when we needed to leave to follow the coach to the cemetery. We chose not to pay for escorts because we were assured the coach would drive slowly enough for us to follow. Instead, the coach left without us and didn’t notify anyone. This created chaos and confusion as we tried to gather everyone and get to the cemetery on time.
The next day, when I went to pick up the death certificate, I was told it was incorrect and had to be sent back for amendment. Yet another avoidable setback.
For the price they charge, the service we received was extremely disappointing. Communication was poor, we were not kept informed, and no one told us when Brittany left—even though she was our main point of contact. It felt like there was a lack of honesty, consistency, and genuine concern for our feelings throughout the entire process.

Losing my mother in October was one of the hardest experiences of my life, and planning her services was emotional and overwhelming. I want to sincerely thank the funeral home and cemetery staff for the care and professionalism they showed my family during this time.
Kelly, the manager, was especially helpful. She was organized, compassionate, and made sure every detail was handled smoothly and exactly as planned. She took the time to answer questions, explain the process, and guide us through decisions when we were grieving and not thinking clearly. Her support truly made a difficult time more manageable.
The services were handled with dignity and respect, and everything went as it should. Our family was able to focus on honoring my mother instead of worrying about logistics, and that meant more than I can say.
I’m very grateful for the kindness and professionalism we were shown, and I appreciate the care they gave to my mother and our family. Thank you for helping!

***Update: I did want to add that after my review I received the floral arrangement and a refund as well as a call from the GM. I do appreciate it.
Unfortunately I am not very impressed with Olingers. While our personal funeral director was very nice and did help us plan our mother's service, the floral arrangement that was supposed to be displayed next to her urn was never delivered to the service. Although I was told, after, that the cost of the arrangement would be refunded and the flowers would be delivered to our home to enjoy, neither has happened. Also, communication through e-mail is not responded to at all. All in all, we should have chosen a different mortuary.

From the moment we spoke to Rod Guthals, the funeral director at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery, we were met with professionalism and kindness. Rod expertly guided us through the planning process, ensuring everything went smoothly. He frequently checked in with updates and offered valuable advice.
The chapel and reception rooms were absolutely beautiful and perfectly suited for the occasion. Rod and the rest of the staff were incredibly supportive, assisting with the setup and ensuring that everything—from the slideshow and music to the flowers—was taken care of ahead of time. Their attention to detail and dedication were truly impressive.
Despite a mishap with the catering and a technical issue with the live stream, Rod handled everything with grace and efficiency. He quickly resolved these issues, demonstrating that even when things aren't perfect, you can count on him to make everything right.
We couldn’t have asked for a better funeral director to work with. Rod’s professionalism, compassion, and kindness made a significant difference during this difficult time. Because of this positive experience, we will definitely use Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery again in the future. Their support made a challenging period much more manageable, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
