My family and I came in for a tour with Joanna. Can I say how excellent she was, lunch was amazing, and how genuinely caring she is. Peter is also very kind. Did I mention there are 2 horses that come once a week? Overall a 10/10 experience so far.

Hacienda at the River is a unique community with beautiful open outdoor green spaces. I’ve toured many communities in Tucson and nothing compares. Offering independent living, assisted living and memory care. A fitness center, a pool, a full salon, massage therapy, aroma therapy, water aerobics, equine therapy and more! Serene and tranquil environment with a robust community life schedule. Lots of the staff has been there for years. Everyone raves about the dining experience. Definitely worth seeing!

Went to the easter brunch and was really looking forward to the leg of lamb. I did try a twice two different pieces. The carver even cut it in the middle. But it was extremely well done in extremely dry.I even saw the executive chef in the dining room and brought it to his attention. And nothing really came of it.The rest of the food was very good. But for a $115 a person I thought, maybe the chef would have tried make it right when I told him I was in the hospitality industry for thirty five years. And I always welcome. When someone would bring to my attention, they're dissatisfaction and always try to do something, to make it right. I also spoke to manager and he really didn't seem to care of my disappointment. There are a lot of brunches in town for a lot less money and better quality of food. The servers and the view was excellent.

Thanks to Marisa Mallo for a lovely and very informative tour. The Hacienda is not a cookie cutter retirement home—the layout is unusual and the outdoor spaces are plenty and varied. The independent living apartments are larger than most we’ve seen and the one we looked at had a fireplace! The staff seem very caring and many have been there a long time, which is a good sign. Their equine program is one-of-a-kind! I urge you to look at their webpage if you’re shopping for independent/assisted living or memory care.
