Pre-planning my funeral with the first step in acquiring my burial place was not only a positive experience, but one I am so very thankful I began with a huge relief. Cathy Younkin, Advanced Planning Advisor, at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home was professional, knowledgeable and courteous in guiding me with all my questions answered as well. I am hoping anyone reading this will consider pre-planning for there is much to know, consider and chose.

My wife and I met with Fairfax Memorial Planning Manager, Ms. Cathy Younkin, to plan our future funeral arrangements. Although it was a difficult topic, Ms. Younkin made the process comfortable and easy to understand. We first met her at an estate planning seminar, where she encouraged planning to ensure personal wishes are honored and to reduce emotional and financial stress on family members. Throughout our meetings, she was professional, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. Ms. Younkin guided us through selecting our arrangements and burial site with care and respect, giving us peace of mind. We highly recommend Ms. Younkin and the Fairfax Memorial staff to anyone considering pre-planning services.

Back in November 2025, just a few days before Thanksgiving, we lost our beloved father. As our family was navigating an incredibly difficult and emotional time, we contacted Deshawna Day, the Family Service Advisor at Fairfax Memorial, to begin the burial process. From the very first conversation, Deshawna guided and supported us through every step. Her knowledge of the burial process, her empathy, and—most importantly—her unwavering support during such a painful moment were truly remarkable. She clearly explained the costs, timelines, and all the logistics, which helped ease so much of our stress. On behalf of our entire family, we want to say thank you a million times over. In addition, her consistent communication—whether by email or text—always carried a sense of urgency and care. Because of her dedication and high‑priority attention, we were able to complete the entire process within just five days, despite the Thanksgiving holiday. Deshawna is a caring, honest, and exceptionally knowledgeable person. We are deeply grateful for everything she did for our family during one of the hardest moments of our lives. God Bless you!!!

I really love the care and comfort I felt at Fairfax Memorial Park. my agent. Kevin Cooper was more than amazing. He helped me and my family through the most difficult time in our life, losing a child. He patiently explained all the things we needed to know and worked diligently to ensure that we received what we wanted. I love this place. I love with my daughter‘s final resting place and I love the view the look the cleanliness and I love the staff there.

My good experience of Fairfax Memorial Park (FMP) is tied up with the passing of both my parents, Mom - four years ago and Dad - this past August. Our first counselor, Terrence Cassell, kindly& expertly guided us through the details of a time-of-need burial. As the 4-year anniversary approached, I visited FMP, both to see my mother’s grave and to meet with our counselor to discuss any remaining preparations for burying our father who was in hospice. Though sad that Terry was no longer there, another excellent counselor, Carlos Cervantes, stepped up to help. With all graciousness & diligence, he covered the details & paperwork, ending by walking to see the grave. We finished, and I said goodbye. As I prepared to drive away, the news came that my father had just passed! But the huge relief was everything was prepared at the cemetery for the burial. I commend our family counselor for carrying out all of FMP’s protocols, as well as honoring our special requests, one of which included permitting a custom generally observed only by Jewish families, to provide for all members who wish to put a shovel of dirt in the grave to help bury their loved one. We have a Jewish aunt who led the way, with kind accommodations by Carlos, that made the funeral so special & meaningful to our entire family. High marks for all at FMP!
