I have been a resident at Heritage Heights for about 4 years. This was the best decision I ever made for my best life. After retiring from teaching because of vision issues, I found my home increasingly challenging because of stairs. HH has been a pleasure....lots of nice people live here, lots of nice people work here. I live in a 1 bedroom cottage with my cat. I love to garden, grill with the neighbors, and feed the birds in the winter so I have an offsite storage location that meets my needs. Activities have been curtailed because of Covid, but I'm looking forward to our gradual return to the preCovid level of day trips, music and sightseeing activities. Health services are a supportive resource even for us independent folks. The food...WOW! The chefs are worth their weight in yummy things. I cooked for myself when I first came here but I realized the social aspect of eating with friends was just as important as the food itself. I moved from Portsmouth NH to Concord....lots less traffic, but still good restaurants. My favorite pleasure of living here is standing in the kitchen in my slippers watching the snow removal team plowing the sidewalk, clearing off the cars, moving the cars, plowing the parking lot, and replacing the cars. I no longer hate winter!! Lots of positive things about living here. If I have to designate the one best aspect of living here....it would have to.be the staff. Truly a wonderful team!

My husband and I came in 2015, so are currently in our 7th year here. Though the last two years working through the restrictions and alterations in programming haven’t been a lot of fun, there has been much to appreciate about our lives here. I have found this to be a community of lovely and interesting people. I personally have offered several programs here, which has been a lot of fun. Currently I facilitate Tootlers, our large recorder ensemble. I’m also finding a lot of stimulation in our World Concerns program which meets weekly and have typically offered several programs for it each year myself. I also am in the choir here and participate in a sing along every Saturday afternoon. We eat as many meals as possible in the dining room or do take out from there. The food is very good, the dining room staff is friendly and helpful, and the very large room is quite pleasant. There’s even a fireplace!

We moved in to Heritage Heights in April of 2017 and quickly connected with our neighbors and staff who warmly welcomed us. The plethora of activities kept us quite busy and engaged with this active community. Although there was a momentary closing of many activities due to Civid, there was always a sense of safety, security, and support from our staff and administration. Now that more activities have begun to resume, there continues to be attention to keeping all residents protected. The high quality of life has remained in tact. Choosing to live in this community has been one of the best decisions we made for our retirement years.
