Stunning stained glass! It's worth going to see the architecture and stained glass. Go on a tour if you can to get insider information. The 7th floor observatory was worth it as there are great views. I went during the week, and in between school tours, it was quiet. I was dropped off my an Uber at a round a out and had to go to the right for the main entrance, which was clearly marked from where I was. The gardens outside were also nice.

Take time to see as many of the fascinating and beautiful features that the entire compound has to share. The Bishop’s Garden is lovely. Take your kid or your partner, you can take really good photos there.
The various gargoyles and grotesques around the entire cathedral are truly remarkable.
The stained glass windows in the interior are individual works of art.

This place is absolutely awesome and very beautiful. It is incredible how this was built over time and with the materials they use to build it. The stained glass windows are very unique. Highly recommend you get a tour of this place to learn all about it.

A spectacular site nestled among an unassuming and quiet neighborhood in D.C. The architecture and detailed carvings is a wonder to see. The grounds are meticulously maintained as well as a beautiful flower garden named Bishop's Garden. Inside tours were not being given the day I visited however, I will return to try to take a peek. The quaint cafè offers breakfast all day and lunch fare for guests, with an outside patio to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather. An evening tour to climb up to the tower is offered every Thursday from May-August 2026 ($80/pp). Each time I've walked the sacred grounds, I am always amazed at the beauty, peace, and tranquility that seems to surround the area. Next time you are in the Nation's Capital, add the National Cathedral to your sightseeing list of places to visit. I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Washington National Cathedral is truly a wonderful place to visit.
Visiting here is a deeply rewarding experience. Every stone and architectural detail of the cathedral carries history and stories. For visitors who appreciate history or religion, it is absolutely worth exploring slowly and carefully.
From the observation level on the 7th floor, you can enjoy a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland. Along the corridors, informational displays help explain what you are seeing, making the scenery more meaningful and engaging.
The gardens are beautifully and carefully maintained.
At sunset, the white stone exterior is softly covered with a golden glow, giving the cathedral an even more sacred and peaceful appearance.
Overall, it is a place that inspires both reflection and appreciation.
