I visited the mosque on a bazaar day, surrounded by numerous vendors both inside and in the mosque’s courtyard. Visitors who wished to enter the mosque were kindly handed headscarves, and their shoes were required to be removed. The interior of the mosque was serene and quiet, allowing visitors to appreciate its intricate architectural details.

Largest Islamic Center (Mosque) in the Washington DC Area. You can find Modern architectural design with traditional Islamic layout when you enter the complex. Highly recommended to visit for prayer. There’s street parking available near the mosque.

Three years ago, I had a truly memorable visit to the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C. The mosque’s beauty, calm atmosphere, and welcoming community left a deep impression on me. I still remember the inspiring sermons and warm presence of Imam Khaled — his words were full of wisdom and compassion. I truly miss that experience and the sense of peace I found there.

What a beautiful mosque and Islamic Center. We went during one of the annual markets. Staff were welcoming and let people go inside the mosque (wearing appropriate clothing). The outdoor plaza had food stands and other vendors from Muslim countries from around the world. The food from Bangladesh was especially delicious!

This mid-sized mosque is a pleasant place to pray and relax after a long day of sightseeing in Washington, D.C., featuring thoughtfully designed and symbolic architecture. Parking is somewhat limited, and a police presence is often noticeable nearby due to the proximity of a former president's residence.
