This church is unknown to me but I do like it's aestheics. It appears to be small and somewhat quaint in personality.

I was very lucky to find Union City when looking for an Easter Service while visiting DC for the weekend. I would absolutely recommend!
What stood out to me about the experience was:
1) The pastor was an inspiring speaker. He taught instead of preached, and left with real takeaways. He was also compelling, high energy, funny, and intentional about brining the crowd into the sermon. Everyone was engaged the whole time.
2) I felt welcome. Those around us were friendly, the ushers helped us get seats even though we were a bit late, and they had donuts and coffee after the service.
3) The people in attendance were truly diverse. It felt like a true cross section of the community.
4) It was family friendly, and on the younger side for average age (25-45)

I love my church. Look forward to serving and seeing everyone there. This is just the beginning. God is working in this place. The worship music is great and so is Pastor Brandon’s sermon each week!

To know Union City Church is to live their tagline- "A church united in a world divided." Founded with Biblical principles, it's not conservative or progressive. It's a church that pushes people toward Jesus so that congregants can be bridge builders and a witness to Washington, D.C. That's who Union City is at their core. Now for the details.
1) Service: There are two services- 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. every Sunday. Each service starts with 3-4 songs for worship with lyrics projected onto a main screen and two side TVs. Announcements are made by various members of the congregation. Sermons are around 30-45 minutes and are steeped in Scripture. The wife-husband team takes turns preaching and both are equally gifted communicators and orators. Each service ends with a reading of the Union City liturgy. (It's the liturgy- how Biblical and bridge-building- that first convinced my family to make Union City our home.)
2) Atmosphere: Union City Church is intentional about creating a welcoming space. Greeters with "welcome" signs say hi to you as you walk in and the lobby is set up with places to sit and connect with people, coffee/water/juice, and the "Connect" area for people who want to go deeper in the church. When my family and I were visiting churches, Union City was the most genuinely friendly.
2) Location: After renting space at two different locations, they have their own building just up from The White House along 16th Street NW. Built at the end of the 19th century, the building is stunning inside and out.
If you're a Christian and want a church family, consider going to Union City Church. It's led by the most thoughtful and integritous people, filled by kind congregants, and is intentional about serving the city and world.

Union City isn’t just a Church - it’s community - it’s family - it’s unity - it’s a vibe. I moved to DC from Tampa 2 years ago, and the one thing that I have been missing the most is a Church and Community that felt like what I left behind. I’ve been searching for a Church home ever since. Finding Union City has given me back something I’ve been missing - and I finally feel like I am home again.
This is a new church that’s just getting started in DC, but based on their heart for this City, the atmosphere of the gatherings, and the kindness, knowledge and professionalism of the Pastors and their launch team - you’d never know they’ve only been here for a few months.
The Church itself will launch in September but to prepare they have already started hosting small group Bible studies, worship nights, community socials, serve days, and more. The messaging from the Pastors at the pre-launch events is relevant, relatable and real. The vibe is always positive, easy, zero pressure, judgement free and incredibly welcoming.
There is something at Union City for everyone - no matter what season of life you are in, or where you are in your walk with faith. I have already met some of the most amazing friends here, who I know will be lifelong. I am so grateful for Pastor Brandon, Pastor Delaney, and this amazing community. I cannot wait to watch this Church grow in the DMV!
