Oldest church in DC area, founded in 1794.Huge bonus for me was the stunning voice of Fr. Lewis. My favorite thing about RC services is the music. Loved it and loved the attendance of so many Pro Life participants...Full church on Sunday at 1730...

very gorgeous church and a great mass that really spoke to me, i’ve been looking for a church to join in the city and of all the catholic churches i’ve visited so far, this was by far the coldest experience. The people are very cold, literally everyone in there was very standoffish & odd to me, even something as simple as when i was walking in, I saw a member walking in and told her it’s my first time there and she just looked at me ignored me & shut the door as she walked in knowing fully well I was right behind her. After mass, as I left out, I held the door open with a smile for some people coming in and they didn’t even acknowledge me or even gesture thanks. I even wanted to ask of the priests a question but he looked at me up & down & I said welp, that’s a response. I know it’s not about I presented myself, I am a well dressed, well groomed, well raised, respectful young lady. Its clear they all know each other and are weirded out by outsiders & snobby which was the strangest experience i’ve ever had at any church or place of worship ever but interestingly enough, I can overlook the people because what I was searching for is the feeling I had at my home parish before moving here, the feeling of being close to God and I believe I truly felt the spirit in there, maybe they won’t be my community of people. but I will continue to go because I felt so moved by the spirit I cried and you know what, that’s ultimately what matters to me.

Very dismissive and passive aggressive, they even hung up the phone on me several times. I loved this story of Saint Patrick so I was guided here I believe. I was look for advice and prayer but I got hung up on by a person named Linda I wanted to report her for her actions but they even told me that a Linda didn’t work there. I didn’t feel welcomed at all and I’m pregnant. I felt so hopeless and defeated I was crying my eyes out in that church looking for help and I’m crying in my apartment now because I never felt rejected by a church I’m not sure I don’t want to blame my race but it wish I could’ve enjoyed the church as other did it makes me view this city differently. Oh the members are lovely they asked if I need help and thank you to Mr. Paul for giving me a chance to feel heard and validated. I would love to get to know people out here in the church from dc they were nice my grandfather was a priest but he has passed in 2020 so times been hard for me.

I was walking around Washington, DC traveling on foot to my hotel two weeks ago when I stopped to admire the St. Patricks Parish Church building. The building was etected circ. 1792 It was the FIRST CHURCH TO BE ERECTED IN THE "FEDERAL CITY" OUTSIDE THE LIMITS OF GEORGE TOWNE." What attracted my attention to the building was the stone facade and old style architecture in the misdt of so many new and modern buildings surrounding this church. As I walked around the city I noticed there were many Churches in the city. Washington where the leadership of our great nation makes our laws and instigates the changes in our nation far and wide needs the houses of worship. These are the places that citizens can come to pray for God's protection of our leaders and for the safety of our Great Nation.

Very beautiful gothic church that was built for the Irish migrants who helped build the Capitol. The stained glass windows are a marvel, as are the side altars. The main altar suffered a bad renovation and now looks a bit weird, but nothing in this world is perfect. One can only wondered what it once looked like... A good place to receive our Lord in the Eucharist with weekday 12:10 Masses. A recommend for those who enjoy liturgical architecture, art, history or wish to see a place of worship for the Irish-American community here in DC.
