I hired this law firm to set up my estate and will based on the many 5-star reviews, but I had the total opposite experience as the reviewers here. We were assigned an inexperienced, incompetent attorney who constantly made mistakes — things like not asking for basic information for the people we named as guardians for our son until we caught the mistake. She couldn't answer basic questions and would take weeks to respond. I complained about this to the principal attorney, Priya, who was at first apologetic promised the rest of the experience would be better. But when we continued to have issues with the assigned attorney, I copied Priya on further correspondence, and she didn't rectify the matter at all. SIX months later, we finally had documents in our hands, and when we went to get them notarized, we caught two egregious mistakes where the attorney had mixed up mine and my husband's SSN and DOB under a signature line on 2 documents. We should NOT be catching mistakes like this. I would say that maybe this was an issue with the attorney we were assigned, but Priya could have reassigned our case or done a way better job at ensuring our experience was better moving forward, and she didn't. I would not recommend this law firm to anyone.

After multiple conversations of this Law Firm telling me how much they value integrity, they proved to me otherwise. RLF was hired to protect my interests during a foreign property transaction. They not only failed to do so and the property ended up in litigation, but they then refused to reimburse me for other services I had paid for and not initiated. I do not find this Law Firm to be of high integrity, and I cannot recommend them.

My partner and I worked with Royal Law Firm on our estate plan. Priya, Jessie, and the team were very knowledgeable, patient, and transparent throughout the process. We initially interviewed other lawyers as well and they stood out as also being down-to-earth and not patronizing or condescending (compared to the 2 other law firms we talked to in the DC area). At contract initiation, they shared a clear scope of work and pricing sheet. They have good digital platforms set up, with an easy virtual meeting scheduling tool and a secure digital document platform for sharing and reviewing. The paralegals and other team members created very clear steps for us to get a mobile notary and execute the documents and re-upload. We plan to work with them again on some real estate purchases - in general, I'm impressed at their range of services and the quality their team delivers.

Priya and her paralegal Janice helped me do a living trust. They have been excellent to work with. The process was made more complicated because of the pandemic and the requirement to get the documents notarized and signed by witnesses. I’m so glad I was working with a competent team. Janice explained the steps clearly and followed up periodically to make sure I didn’t have any questions. I will definitely use their services again.

The Royal Law Firm PLLC helped my parents and I set up their living will and trust, avoid probate , and establish a power of attorney. Now we have a solid estate plan and I can feel comfortable knowing their last wishes will be handled with respect and care. Priya Royal is the best estate planning attorney in Washington D.C.
