Waterfront Church DC

My best friend Dayana and I were visiting from Texas this paste week. We were staying in the waterfront area and looked up a church to attend on Sunday while visiting. We just so happened to be staying walking distance from the church! Plus, as we found out Pastor Zach is originally from Texas! We knew it was a God divine appointment from our first search but later felt it even more when attending the 11:30am service. As the first service let out people poured out from the church doors which is a good sign! The church was filled with a diverse community, tons of opportunities to get connected in community, powerful and encouraging message (holy spirit led and biblically based teachings) and delicious hot coffee before service which was a plus in the cold! If I lived in DC I would definitely make it my church home! We loved it so much and felt God’s presence there that we told so many locals who God led us to about the church! So confident and prayerful that God is moving in that church and will use them as a beacon of hope leading so many to Christ in the DC area. We believe that churches like Waterfront DC will have and are having profound effect on so people’s lives in the DC area. If you live in or near DC and looking for loving Christ like community you gotta check out this one! Excited to know of a church in the DC area as I will have to go back here frequently in the years to come to renew my visa for South Africa! Cannot wait to see how it grows!

It was a good service with an encouraging sermon, in an intimate setting as everyone is close to the stage and the lights go out. The people were kind but not very chatty, it's pretty fast paced to fit in 3 services after one another. There are armed police officers guarding the church, sitting right next to the stage with their guns. Perhaps it might be a necessary precaution in this part of town, but it creates a somewhat unsettling atmosphere.

We discovered this church in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, seeking a place for spiritual solace. The messages resonate profoundly, and the Word is faithfully preached every Sunday. Each visit feels like a refreshing breath of divine inspiration. Our family, along with the rest of the congregation, is truly nourished. We feel deeply blessed to have Pastor Zack guiding us.

Waterfront is hands-down one of the absolute best churches I’ve ever been to. From the moment I walked in the doors I felt nothing but welcome, and like I had found a missing piece of my heart. I immediately felt like I was at home and I could fit in immediately with everyone who greeted me and spoke to me. As a young Christian, I can often feel intimidated by certain things, and big churches, but this one is one of the most welcoming and inclusive communities I’ve ever been a part of. I’m so grateful for my newfound family, and the opportunity to be part of something great, as well as having the rare and incredible opportunity to see this new church grow and spread God’s amazing word.

If you want to walk away wiser and lighter each and every week, this is the place for you. Pastor Zack delivers a powerful message that you will take with you all week like a song stuck in your head until you return. He don’t miss a beat.
