My relative has been buried at this cemetery for over two decades. Today when I went to their gravesite, I saw a young white woman in her 20s with dyed green hair walking her very large dog throughout the cemetery. She had a poop bag visible. I'd like this cemetery to do a better job of keeping people, especially people walking their dogs, out of the cemetery. Although her dog did not go to the bathroom on or near my relative's gravesite, I could honestly see someone physically assaulting this woman if they saw her dog pooping or peeing near or on their loved ones gravesite. So this is just a heads up to the powers that be at this cemetery. Please, do something to keep people like this woman out of this cemetery. Beyond the aforementioned, this cemetery does an excellent job!

Both Parents are buried here. The Facility is Phenomenal. The grounds are expertly maintained, and the caretakers are respectful and courteous. My Mom passed in 2012 and Dad 2021. I visit the gravesite monthly. Even during the winter, the paths are plowed.

Members of my family have been interred in Ivy Hill Cemetery since shortly after it opened. I'm 67 years old now, but I remember visiting past relatives as a child many times. I find it comforting to visit cemeteries, and Ivy Hill has, somehow, managed to maintain its solemn atmosphere, well kept grounds, and amazing people who oversee it. I have been in hundreds of cemeteries in my 47 year career as a funeral director. I wanted to be a funeral director since I was in fourth grade, and I believe my "appreciation" for funeral service, and honoring and remembering the dead, began with my visits to Ivy Hill Cemetery. It was there that I felt something that I feel to this day when I visit my past relatives. The same emotions they felt. I can stand in a place on this earth where everyone below me most likely once stood. And, I'm thinking the same things they did at that moment, and feeling the same emotions they felt. Whether they were there to visit their past relatives, or to lay another to rest, the emotions they felt were the same as mine at that moment. That's why cemeteries are important to me. I was raised to be respectful, and it was reinforced by seeing the respect my parents showed their parents and grandparents at Ivy Hill. I've buried both parents in the family plot at Ivy Hill, truly comforted by the presence of their neighbor, Joe Frazier who rests nearby. Ivy Hill Cemetery is a special place. In all the cemeteries I have visited and worked with, only the national cemeteries, especially Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego equal it in the ability to elicit strong emotions in me. Ivy Hill Cemetery, and the people who continue to operate the cemetery in such a manner, is and are unique, and appreciated. Thank you for honoring our dead in such a respectful way.

There is a black dog living in the cemetery that doesn’t look healthy with a sore on his front right leg and limping badly. No collar on. He is very mellow and understands the word no, but kept following me which I didn’t care for at the moment and the owner was nowhere around to keep his dog under control.
