Amedisys Hospice Care

Months ago, I had the privilege of partnering with Amedisys Hospice in my previous role to host a Memorial Service. Never before had I had the opportunity to serve as a host site for such a meaningful event. The memorial service honored former patients who had been under their care and had passed on. It was a beautiful and heartfelt celebration of life, featuring touching tributes through music, poetry, personal reflections, and a moving butterfly release. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Avis Queen for her partnership and collaboration in bringing this special event to our organization. Throughout the years, Avis has been instrumental in connecting me with fellow aging-services professionals and fostering valuable relationships within our industry. Her impact extends far beyond her role. She has consistently demonstrated leadership, generosity, and a commitment to supporting others, serving as a mentor to her peers and especially to those who are new to the market. Her dedication to both her profession and the people she serves is truly admirable. Thank you, Avis, for your continued partnership, guidance, and unwavering commitment to the aging-services community.

I would not recommend. My mom went into hospice care and the person that came to sign her up with hospice was literally selling a car. The bed they bought in was dirty. Suction machine was dirty, compressor was dirty, as well as the feeding machine. Nothing that they told us was not what they held up to. The equipment they sent to her look as it had came out of someone’s house that just passed. When I called the office to complain the man that answered the phone told me that maybe hospice wasn’t for us. Instead of being sympathetic he was extremely rude. My experience with this company was the worse. If I can give a minus star that’s what they would get. Do your research please before signing on. That’s all I have to say.

If I could put zero stars I would. I am writing this on behalf of my father in law. I saw another review that says that if they could have done more research they would have before choosing this hospice care and I 100% agree. Although on the bright side we had an amazing experience with the aide Brandy which we adore so much and the nurse Sandra. Now as far as Jessica and Kelly, we had a terrible experience with them and believe that we were 100% racially discriminated against because we are people of color. They discharged my father in law without our consent or us knowing as well as accusing us of things that they know themselves is 100% not true. If we didn’t come in contact with them our experience would have been a lot better. I thought this service was to help people, not to be nasty and rude and accused of false accusations. I would not ever recommend these services to anyone at all. Please do your research on this awful company. They will be the downfall of this company.

I am the friend of a close family friend and I am supporting them by writing this review. While speaking my very dear friend, she told me that she wishes they had done more research on Amedisys Hospice Largo. She said she would never have chosen them. This was heartbreaking to me because I could feel and hear her pain. Ultimately seniors deserve the best care and families knowing they are being cared for with excellence is at the core of that. This was not happening for my friend’s family. Being taken care of in our old age is a road we all hope to travel.

As a PG County-focused home care agency, we work closely with the Amedisys team. They too are PG County focused, extremely professional and incredibly empathetic, making those difficult times much easier for the client and their family. We highly recommend Darlene and Amedisys to anyone in need of hospice care or consultation!
