Our family is new to VITAS, but our care experience has been top notch so far. For context, my father has been in and our of hospitals and hospice care in another state. So, we no a little something about bedside manner, organization, medical support, and etc. What we have appreciated most about the service are: 1. Kind and supportive energy from all staff, including Diane, Freda, Nurse Joyce, Nurse David, Dr. Akinlolu, Nurse Jayme, and the guys from their medical supply team. 2. High level of knowledge and responsiveness. They are quick to answer, thorough in their communication, and reassuring with their words/ actions. 3. They are accommodating and responsive to family needs. They work with your family and put the clients needs first. Our experience has not been reflective of the 1 star reviews below. All I can do is give proper credit where it's due, for now.

When you don’t have options you and your loved one will suffer. The lack of care, urgency, and decency the nurses, social workers and doctors lack enraged me to the point of sadness and despair. I would not wish this agency upon anyone. Yet I know for some this deplorable agency is all the VA and Medicaid will provide. This review is for everyone who has to deal with this agency. I feel your pain, frustration and sorrow deeply.

If you are planning to go to VITAS healthcare and see the positive reviews, all it takes is to look at how long ago they were. I don’t typically review things unless the service is EXCEPTIONAL or TERRIBLE and i think many people are like me. Clearly the last time this place truly touched someone’s heart enough for a review was years ago. Also I am a family member of the recent VETERAN who has had terrible service such as being falsely changed and they want to put him on the floor

My Grandpa has been using this service for over a year now. They were recommended by the VA hospital. A year ago they decreased his supplies and as of a month and a half ago when his primary home help aid went on vacation he basically stopped receiving services. When my mom complained they took him off the service period. Now they are requesting their equipment without proper arrangements. The person who wants to pick up the equipment is okay with him sleeping on the floor. He’s a 97 year old, 3 time war veteran and the treatment he’s getting from them is inhumane.

My uncle served in the military for 22 years and this company Vitas Healthcare has given my family the worst service ever. This company needs to be investigated or Shutdown. Please do not let this company try to give your love-one sloppy halfway service they deserve better. Just to let you know If your family member is disabled you will definitely provide better service than this company, don't hire them. This Company does not care about any of the patients. It’s seem to me they are all about money. So unprofessional.
