Amedisys Hospice Care

Amedisys Hospice is a great company. I’m familiar with many other hospices in the area; Amedisys stands out over the others. I would choose Amedisys first every time.

Unexceptional experience for my family. Hospice is supposed to provide comfort to the patient in the comfort of their own home and they failed. For someone to have been experiencing symptoms of discomfort, medications were not present in the home for more than 24 hrs and unable to be delivered because it was the weekend. Very traumatic experience for my family. Care does not stop because it is the weekend. As a hospice nurse in a different state and could not be with my family physically but present on the phone I am not pleased.

My sister was on in-home hospice care 2 1/2 weeks. I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were overwhelmingly amazed and blessed with the care, professionalism, and kindness by all. If you are looking for medical care I would suggest you look elsewhere. Your loved one deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion, as does my grandmother. A few members of my family are health care professionals. If it were not for them we would not have been aware of the various issues plaguing my grandmother’s condition due to neglect in care and profuse lack of medical training of their staff.

Amedisys Hospice Care Baton Rouge, LA provided my mother support the last year of her life - staff addressed every need and encouraged her to be as independent as possible. Amedysis Hospice Care made a difference in her quality of life. For that she and her family and friends are grateful.
