Update (1.20.26): Kimberly Grove, VP Executive Director of Operations, responded to our family’s initial email with apologies and expressions of deep regret and invited further discussion. Despite our follow-up, there has been no response in over a month. This experience has made it clear that this organization offers words without follow-through. Families deserve better during end-of-life care.

The nurses and nurse assistants who cared for my mother in hospice were truly exceptional—kind, patient, and compassionate during an incredibly painful time. They provided the level of care every family hopes for at the end of life.
Unfortunately, our experience with leadership was deeply upsetting. Clinical Director Shannon Connors entered my mother’s room without knocking or introducing herself and spoke to our grieving family in a loud, dismissive, and confrontational manner. There was no empathy, no attempt to problem-solve, and no acknowledgment of the situation.
We later spoke by phone with Regional Executive Director Angi Stapleton, hoping for clarity and support. Instead, we were given confusing and contradictory explanations about policies that were never provided in writing, along with insensitive implications about family presence during end-of-life care.
More than half the facility was empty at the time, yet no effort was made to accommodate a large family saying goodbye. We were never assigned a bereavement coordinator, and the social worker never introduced herself or offered support.
Hospice should be centered on dignity, compassion, and family. While the nursing staff embodied those values, leadership did not.

My son spent 23 nights at the Adler Center in Dec '25. We found the center to be peaceful and warm. The nurses, and all staff, were extremely professional, experienced and competent. In addition, they were very kind, compassionate and helpful to my son and our family. We will be forever be indebted to: Amy, Marisol, Nelia, Lisa, Jake, Angelique, Stacy, Jennifer, Loretta, Terri, Paul, Naomi, Tom (cookie guy), Reagan & Scruffy (therapy dogs). Although this was a very difficult time for our family, The Adler Center was a wonderful place to be for our son's last days. Thank you so very much for everything you did to make our stay comfortable.

Our family had a very mixed experience with Capital Caring Health. On the positive side, many of the nurses were wonderful—kind, gentle, and compassionate. The facility itself is lovely and peaceful, which is important during such a difficult time.
However, our overall experience was deeply affected by the behavior of one staff member, Shannon Connors. We are a large family, and after feeling pushed into moving our mother to this facility, we hoped for understanding and compassion. Instead, Shannon Connors was disrespectful and rude toward our mother and toward my siblings who were visiting. Her loud, inconsiderate behavior added unnecessary stress and pain during our mother’s final days.
Her lack of communication skills and apparent inability to interact sensitively with a grieving family made an already heartbreaking situation much worse. Rather than feeling supported, we felt sadness and anger because of how we were treated. We loved our mother deeply, and those last days should have been handled with care, dignity, and compassion.
I sincerely hope no other family has to experience this lack of compassion during such a vulnerable time.

This is a beautiful facility to help your loved ones move on. The nurses are incredible, the facility has very nice and cozy sitting areas, both inside and outside, a full kitchen with oven, fridge, coffee, etc. The intake nurses helped us make the difficult transition from home hospice to this inpatient facility and we will be forever grateful.

Love this location. The staff is top notch and very helpful. You can tell they care for their patients. I personally have worked very closely with this dedicated staff of nurses, who demonstrated the level of respect and dignity they show to their patients. Capital Caring Health as an organization sets the standards of debit health care and I am never disappointed on my visits to their facilities.
