Excellent location. New to area when arrived 11 years ago and nice neighborhood Diverse community, which makes people feel comfortable and at home Nice apartments overall although rooms near common areas can be a bit noisy Front desk staff and kitchen/wait staff are wonderful Good parties and activities Food is usually good with healthy options available, chef tries to accommodate diverse staff Affordable compared to many other places Concerns: Overnight front desk/security staff eliminated years ago without resident input Reportedly situations where ambulances were delayed getting in at night because nobody was at the desk Residents are seniors, so concerns about people getting locked out or accidentally letting strangers into the building Residents feel management listens to concerns but rarely follows through with changes, even small requests New gym added, but apparently not used much Biggest complaint lately: No meals served on Saturdays anymore, eliminated without resident input Residents given a sandwich the day before instead, while still paying full meal plan costs Sunday brunch is the only actual meal served over the weekend Clearly some residents are not eating enough on weekends and miss the socialization Overall, sounds like the place still has a lot of positives, but management communication and resident support need improvement. Bringing back overnight desk coverage would make a huge difference.

My mother has been living in Seabury at Friendship for over 10 years. I want to acknowledge that Dennis the maintenance guy is very responsive in getting work issues resolved in a timely fashion. He took immediate action when my mother needed a repair done in her unit. We appreciate his prompt response in getting everything taken care of. Great Job Much Appreciated

My mommy Carol has been at FT since the early 2000s. She is one of the longest residing residents and she loves it. I have been coming thru here the entire time often as I live up the road in Rockville. This is easily her favorite residency of all time with many years to go. The food is good, the maintenance staff are excellent and management is on the ball.

I visited Seabury with one of my Daughters last week and Antranisha Watkins, Leasing & Marketing Associate, walked us around the place. All the Staff we met in our tour as well as some Residents were very kind and friendly. Antranisha was very caring and professional dedicating her time to not only touring around the place but explaining all details and reviewed my initial Application Docs. I am dreaming to make it my new Home and Praying I am approved to move in ASAP. With profound Gratitude and wishing You All a Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year.

It might be a little premature to write a review but we have had a wonderful experience with Friendship Terrace so far. My parents will be moving up here from Florida and my sister and I (after vetting a few other places) have chosen these apartments for them. We have toured the place twice, once with our folks. We love the homey atmosphere and the great neighborhood. Everyone is friendly and welcoming too --staff and residents! The residents seem like a bunch of smart, lively, diverse older people who are really engaged and living with purpose. Our contact there, Tawanda Jackson showed us around. She knew every the name of every person we met and answered every question knowledgeably and honestly. If my parents do get a place here, I will update! Follow up: Almost 4 years later and my parents are thriving at Friendship Terrace. It is not perfect or fancy, but the people there are kind and hardworking and have been wonderful with my parents. It's a very diverse community of residents which my parents enjoy! Special props to management: Tawanda, Samira and Saja who have met every hiccup with a willingness to be open to our ideas about solving any issues that come along. Additional Edit as of July 2022: Covid isn't over yet but so far they have managed it really well. They did an excellent job during the shut down of providing meals door to door and checking in on every resident every day. Even now they do temperature checks on everyone who comes in and are still making sure everyone is masked. They have provided vaccinations and boosters (going to each apartment separately) and continue to work hard to keep residents safe -- and also happy! Big props to executive director Semira Nagasi who in addition to managing all that, has been advocating on behalf of our parents and other residents for a rent reduction program offered by DC government.
