My wife and I who cared for my 96 yr old mother in our home came to that moment when we were quite aware we could not do it all by ourselves, especially as she continued to decline. Compassus was simply excellent. We felt and were less alone. The nurse assigned to us was outstanding. The nurse's aid who helped bathe my mother and provided support for "small" things which had great impact on her dignity was also excellent. The coordination between hospice and orders for equipment to prescriptions was excellent. We will be forever grateful for their compassionate, skillful care.

My mom passed away within a couple of hours of arriving home so there was not extended hospice care. I can say that the nurses who responded promptly to our home were very knowledgeable and compassionate and never left her side. The follow-up with Conpassus was outstanding. There was a glitch with getting the death certificate but we believe this was the funeral home’s error in sending the information to the wrong place and once Conpassus was notified it was immediately addressed. Afterwards, I received several contacts regarding my own personal health which I really didn’t think I needed and was surprised at how timely, knowledgeable, and helpful the grief counsellor really was. I think choosing Conpassus was the right choice for us and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Compassus is the company we used when my sister needed hospice care. We were very pleased with them. My sister was in a veterans home in Philadelphia and the Compassus team would visit her there. The team included a superviser, nurse, and chaplain to name a few. They even had a person who would come by with animals since my sister loved animals. They would oversee her medication and work with the home's medical staff to see that my sister received the right amount of medication to keep her comfortable. They would keep us informed each week with updates on how the visits went.
After my sister passed, the Compassus staff very quickly reached out to family members to offer bereavement services. I live in VA and the bereavement coordinator in PA reached out to one of their offices near me to have them assist me with their bereavement services. I was invited to join a bereavement group and can say that it was incredibly helpful. The leader of the group was so compassionate and knowledgeable. She made us all feel welcome and comfortable in sharing our grief, but there was never any pressure to share if you just wanted to be there without speaking up. It was a very beneficial experience.
I would highly recommend Compassus if you need hospice care for your loved one or yourself.

My significant other was on hospice services with Compassus only for a short time. In just a few days they made a world of difference. The on call nurse Natascha was excellent. The chaplain sat with us and gave my husband comfort. He even officiated the funeral. Gabby answered every single one of my calls and took the time to explain what to expect. Every nurse was knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend them if you or your loved one has to choose a hospice.

It's never easy to write about palliative and hospice care after losing a loved one. The hospice team at Compassus were on point right from the intake process. They listened, paid attention to ground reality and adjusted schedules, literature, pain management, spiritual support, grief and end of life guidance. Lan, Gabby, Kathy, Terry and the whole team came through. Do not wait till it's too late and ask for Hospice care as soon as possible from your Onc/Provider.
