Amedisys Hospice Care

I cannot say enough positive things about our Amedisys Hospice Team (Alamance Co.). We transferred from another local Hospice that we unfortunately had several poor experiences with. The additional level of support that our current team is providing for my loved one is giving me much needed relief and peace of mind that she is in good hands. My loved one and myself have consistently been treated with care, dignity, and respect.

I was not happy with their care over looking my mom with bed sore/kennedy ulcers. My mother was in pain, they were not helpful at all!! I have always thought Hospice groups HELP their patients, Amedisys did nothing to expedite pain meds for my mom. She needed liquid pain meds, not available I guess on the weekends. She passed on a Monday morning. The nurses who did visit her we never prepared prior or organized or appeared to never dealt with kenbedy ulcers before. I don't suggest this establishment under any circumstances!

Amedisys hospice was instrumental in my loved ones passing. From the intake coordinator to our actual nurse they provided not only the much needed support for me making snap decisions at many crossroads but also helped treat my family member with the crucial pain management/anxiety meds so she was able to let go peacefully. I cannot fathom having to walk through that valley without them. They were our angels on earth!

I want to thank the staff at Amedisys. Sally RN especially who was so caring and available. Sally made sure and always reassured us that my Mom wasn’t in any pain during her last few days with us. My Mom was very comfortable and Peaceful when she passed and even though my heart is broken I take comfort in knowing that my Mom is healed. Thanks to Serenity also.

Extremely disappointed with the "non" care my father received from Amedisys. He did not get the care he deserved. We had to call several times just to ask to get someone out to help him. He passed away in 3 days of the care he was supposed to receive. They never came out to give him a bath, and when we called about him throwing up multiple times, all they did was call in medicine for him. No one came out to care for or check on him. The bedding supplies ordered the first day arrived three days later after he had already passed. The medicines ordered for dad were not even set up correctly for payment by hospice, my mother had to wait hours at the pharmacy to get his meds, and she even had to pay out of pocket for them. The whole experience we had with Amedisys was horrible. I would not recommend them to care for any loved one. Still today, 3/10, one week later of loosing my dad, the bed and oxygen machine is still sitting in my parents home for my mother to see everyday. They still have not arranged to get the DME out of her home. I have worked for another local hospice in the past and I have never seen such horrible care. And then I see three new posts giving them 5 stars. Are you kidding me? The company is posting their own reviews. You can confirm by checking the IP address for each review. Just keep your loved ones away from their company. This company does not take care of people, give them the respect they deserve nor do they offer any help to their families.
