Kensington Park Senior Living

The Memory Café at the Kensington Senior Center is a wonderful program that I attend each month with my client Aleksandar. The activities are always enjoyable and engaging, whether it’s music or art. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, creating a warm and supportive environment for everyone. The lunch provided is a lovely addition, and it’s amazing that this program is free to attend. We always look forward to coming and are grateful for all the care and effort that goes into making each Memory Café such a positive experience. Highly recommended!

My mom spent over a year in Kensington Park’s Memory Care and was treated with the utmost care and compassion. She was lovingly cared for by both their nursing staff and personal care team members as well as by the various members of the management team who are “hands on” and consider themselves part of the care team for every resident. Everyone greeted my mom and our family members visiting her with warm, genuine smiles and spent time looking out for our needs as well as our mom’s. We found everyone we encountered to be professional, kind, supportive, loving and good at their jobs. To share an example of their stellar care, any time snowy weather was forecasted, we would get an email from the Executive Director letting us know that they were ready for the incoming weather. She told us they were preparing the sidewalks and drives and were ready to plow snow. They didn’t discourage visiting but wanted us to be safe and to assure us that they had our loved ones taken care of – with backup medications, food, generators and care team members on hand - so that we didn’t need to worry. In fact, during this past winter with the huge ice storm that closed down roads, school and some workplaces for close to a week, KP had about 75 staff members who stayed overnight for 2 days so that our family members would have people to care for them and so that their team members would not have to travel in hazardous conditions. They had mattresses set up for their care team members, fed them and made it a festive slumber party, all while ensuring everyone who was working was able to care for our loved ones. I cannot say enough good things about the people at Kensington Park Memory Care - the management team, the nurses, the care team members, the activities specialists, the kitchen and dining staff, the maintenance and facilities staff. They really are true to their mantra that they love and care for your family as they do their own.

Kensington Park does an outstanding job for not only their residents but the entire community. Their dedicated and caring staff provide not only physical and mental support but outstanding educational and recreational events. Their recent Cherry Blossom event was exceptional and and we not only enjoyed Japanese cuisine but even learned how to make sushi. If you live in the DMV check out KP.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Kensington Park community. Moving a parent is never easy, but from day one, the staff made my mother feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and at home. The transition was smoother than we ever expected, and that’s entirely thanks to the warmth and professionalism of everyone there. The facility itself is beautiful, clean, and offers my mom the “homie” feeling she was seeking. The activities and social opportunities have also been amazing. My mother is more engaged now than she has been in years, there’s always something going on, whether it’s group events, fitness classes, or casual social gatherings. It’s been such a joy to see her making friends and enjoying herself If you’re considering a senior living community for a loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend Kensington Park. It has exceeded all of our expectations in every possible way.

My dad spent the final 7.5 years of his life at Kensington Park Senior Living. He experienced the Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care facilities. He was treated with the utmost care and respect at all 3 facilities. Each facility was always clean and well maintained. My dad really enjoyed the variety of activities & food, as well as the environment & people. As a visitor, management and the staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The entire staff is dedicated and truly compassionate. The Caretakers at each facility are true angels and did all they could do to take care of dad. Communication was outstanding - I was consistently kept informed of my dad’s health and well-being. I appreciated that they had my dad ready to be picked up when I needed to take him to an appointment or an off-site family gathering. My dad was blessed to be part of the Kensington Park family, and we were comforted knowing he was in good hands at Kensington Park.
