I am recovering from hip surgery. At the outset, the nurse (Abby) and the PT therapist (Ian) provided exceptional service. However, I found the organization itself to be subpar. Trying to reach an individual who could set up my PT visits was a trying experience. I was often unable to get through. I was told conflicting information when I did actually reach someone. I received one home PT visit, was left with a copy of exercises I was to do. I haven’t heard anything else. This is my second hip replacement. I have to say that the care I received for my first hip replacement was leaps and bounds above what was offered by Holy Cross Home Care and Hospice. I would not encourage anyone to use this service. Actually, I was strongly cautioned against using HCHC&H. I the future I will heed such warnings.
I see today that a response as posted in response to my above review. The response directed me to call to discuss my concerns with a clinical director. I called this morning. I was told that both of the people I’d need to speak with were unavailable. I was then told that one of the two clinical directors would call me back promptly to discuss my concerns. Well, here it is hours later and I have not received a call back. This just further justifies my concerns with HCHC&H. My strongest recommendation for others is DO NOT USE HCHC&H. Seek out another organization.

The process to schedule was extremely stressful and worrisome when surgery was fast approaching and we still had not received an appointment.
HOWEVER, when I reached out directly to Keith the person in charge of everyone and left him a message, he called me right back, and we were immediately put on the schedule. I appreciated the situation being remedied so quickly when I brought it to his attention.
Carolyn our Physical Therapist was and is amazing! Hands down the 5 stars are for her methods. This was no cookie cutter, one size fits all care. Carolyn is very thorough and assesses your care adjusting to your needs on each visit. She communicates with you and follows up with your care. Carolyn added in a new exercises with each visit building onto the last, to increase my husband’s range of motion, stability, strength, and stamina. Upon clearing him for outpatient services she said we could reach out anytime if we had any questions. Carolyn gave us the voice to ask the right questions to ask about his care, and how to set weekly goals to get the treatment plan he needs to fully recover and get what he needs after his surgery. Thank you Carolyn for a job well done!

Rosa was a wonderful nurse to my husband and cared for him on a regular basis with weekly visits upon his return home from rehab after back surgery. She was professional, cheerful and knowledgeable. We appreciated everything she did for him!

My 93-year old mother broke her hip in July. She had surgery to repair it the following day, but a person with servere dementia has trouble adapting. She knew she was in pain, but she couldn't remember why. She refused to try walking. After ten days in the hospital with few results, we chose hospice. Sally was able to go back home to her memory care apartment. Someone of the extensive team checked on her daily. Most were healthcare providers, but the crew included a social worker and a chaplain. They provided a hospital bed, medicine, wipes, undergarments, stick sponges the clean her teeth. as my mother's pain increased, so did the doses of pain medication recommended. Holy Cross Hospice helped steer my mother to a comfortable peace several weeks before she died. And they kept me informed online because our paths didn't always cross at the home

On July 29, 2025, my mother began receiving in-home hospice services from Holy Cross Home Care and Hospice (“Hospice”). On the first day of her care, we were visited by a nurse administrator. She explained that the purpose of hospice care is to provide comfort and support to both my mother, our family and her caregiver. We were also informed that Hospice would provide all medications, medical equipment and supplies needed for her care. My mother’s Hospice team consisted of a physician, a social worker and nurses. Her care was exceptional. She received daily visits by the nurses and weekly visits by the social worker. Her team members were attentive, kind and demonstrated empathy and patience. As her family members/caregivers we were very appreciative of the team’s guidance, gentle reassurances and 24/7 availability which made us feel comfortable and confident throughout her care. There were a couple of times when we had to call in the middle of the night, to speak to a nurse, and the response was immediate. We never felt that we were alone. We are immensely grateful for the outstanding care our mother received. The staff at Holy Cross Home Care and Hospice are extraordinary individuals who embody the essence of healthcare excellence. Without hesitation, we recommend their services to others in need.
