The staff was caring and very respectful. They held my son's ashes while I was hospitalized and other family members tried to pick up my sons ashes without my permission. They called me in Utah to confirm with me. I truly appreciated it. Mahalo nui for the gesture. That's Aloha!

REVIEW OF OAHU MORTUARY: Disappointing Experience with Raymond T., Senior Funeral Director/Arranger (August 2025) In August 2025, we worked with Raymond T., Senior Funeral Director at Oahu Mortuary, to arrange my father’s service. While he completed the basic tasks, there was a clear lack of care and attention to detail throughout the process. During our meeting, he didn’t take the time to properly review the documents with us. He simply pointed out where my mother should sign, without walking through what she was signing. We trusted that everything was in order — it wasn’t. Despite knowing my father was a veteran and arranging for his burial at the veterans cemetery, Raymond incorrectly marked “No” on the form asking about military service. This mistake caused complications and additional costs, like having to pay for extra death certificates. When we brought it up, he didn’t acknowledge the error or take responsibility. On top of that, the obituary he prepared was incomplete — it was short, lacked important personal details, and didn’t even include my father’s place of birth. Losing a loved one is hard enough. Families should be able to rely on funeral professionals to handle these moments with care and respect. That was not our experience.

I cannot recommend this company enough. First, there's a genuine caring and kindness from the people who work here that is very sincere. I received more understanding from them than people I've known for decades. Their Aloha spirit actually helped my healing. It seems like a family here, and not a company. Second, they helped me in every way possible when my father passed in 2014 and my best friend in 2024. Lucy and Bryce went the extra mile. They are not pushy with sales, yet they have the best prices on Oahu for cremation. Thirdly, this is a beautiful, peaceful, clean location in lush, green Nuuanu with a little stream running through, but close to downtown. May Akua's aloha heal your heart.

Bryce was the director for my Father’s funeral, him and his staff provided excellent service. Their warmhearted care on how they treated all of us was truly amazing and appreciated. He accommodated all my needs for setting up and added tables and chairs for outside that provided comfort for everyone who attended. The celebration of life was beautiful and we were very impressed by how smoothly it went. The whole Oahu Cemetery team is great! From Miki setting up my Dad’s policy, to Lucy helping us get through the process and to Taylor for taking care of my family’s final stages. Mahalo Piha to you all! These guys are top notch and we recommend all our family to go here.

Every summer the Oahu Cemetery, in collaboration with Mission Houses will host a cemetery theater which is a unique experience for many locals and visitors. They will feature significant historical figures in Hawaii, many buried at the Oahu Cemetery itself. At the end of the day they will have a Q&A with the organizers and cast to reflect on the performance.
