Discovery Commons Virginia Beach

Discovery Commons has recently had some beautiful renovations done to the building improving the quality of life for the current residents here. The whole building feels more vibrant and very welcoming. Anyone would be lucky to consider this community their home.

Discovery Commons Virginia Beach is good with communication. My mom unexpectedly needed senior assisted living care asap. I called multiple facilities to only be transferred to voicemail. Brooke from DCVB returned my call and scheduled a tour of the facility very quickly. It was less than two weeks later before I was able to move my mom in. I would recommend DCVB for senior assisted living.

My mother moved to Discovery Commons Assisted Living apartment one month ago. She left her home of 39 years, so we were expecting the transition to be very difficult. It has not been! The residents and staff are so kind, and welcoming. Everyone is happy and friendly- so sweet to my Mom. Yes, it was a huge change, but the "vibe" is one of kindness, friendliness and support. Residents are encouraged to come down to meals, and sit with their table-mates for social interaction. We no longer have to manage her medicine- it is handled and dispensed by staff. Pets are allowed, so visits with our dogs is fun. Our move was managed by a senior downsizing company called "Smooth Transitions", who coordinated with the staff at DC. They made it so easy. Glenn at Smooth Transitions created a mini version of her beloved home, with all of her art and furniture. We were blown away when we saw it. Glenn made it happen in one day. Her room is beautiful, plus as an extra bonus the entire facility is in the midst of a major upgrade- new flooring, carpet, paint, tile and furniture! I looked at other Assisted Living facilities in the Va. Beach area; Discovery Commons is a facility where kindness rules the day. My mother and the family are very happy with our decision!

Moved my Mom from independent living to Discovery Commons. She loves it and I could not be happier with the move. Staff is fantastic and responds happily and promptly to any requests we have had. The medical staff is fantastic and she even likes the food! Highly recommend the facility and staff!

Discovery commons is a beautiful facility. We love the openness of the interior. The porch is nicely shaded. My mom has been there for over a year. Her care team is very attentive and there whenever she needs them. My mom loves all the care team, dining team and staff. She tells us all the time how nice they are. Any time we needed to talk to someone they were always ready to accommodate. The dining room is very nice and my mom loves the food. I highly recommend this facility for your loved one.
