Gentiva Hospice

Gentiva Hospice is a great service. They have you love in care and feeling comfortable and well taking care of . After my Dad passed away one year ago today . Chaplain Sonia has been my support person . She has guided me through this year of grief. She has been there for me and has help see that the passing of my Dad go more easy and made me understand his death. Now I know my Dad is at peace and no more pain . If it was not for her I would have been in a deep depression. But she made me see it in a different way that he is still live with me in my heart and that some day I will reunite with him. Chaplin Sonia is a great help and support . Please if you need to talk to her do call her and she will help you understand. Many blessings to her and her staff. I highly recommend them to any one .

The hospice team that cared for my grandmother was truly a blessing to our family. From the very beginning, they treated her with so much compassion, dignity, and respect. They didn’t just focus on her medical needs — they cared about her comfort, her peace, and our family’s well-being too. During such a difficult time, they made everything feel a little lighter with their kindness and constant support. A special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Yuvislay Clavel, who was absolutely amazing with my grandmother. She was attentive, patient, and incredibly gentle. She always took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure my grandmother was comfortable and cared for. Her warmth and professionalism gave our family so much reassurance. We are beyond grateful for the love and dedication she showed every single day.

Stay away from this company if you care about your loved ones. They almost killed my mother twice in a week, first by providing an oxygen concentrator that was not functioning they sent 5 nurses who could not tell that the machine was not providing her oxygen. I had to buy a portable one to save my mom’s life.Then they prescribed liquid form sleeping pills and opium and my mother mistook one of them for coughing sirup and overdosed on them the nurse was there when it happened and thought my mother was sleeping and kept telling me her vitals were fine I had the be the one to tell them something is wrong she is unconscious call 911. The hospital told us that they did not know if she was going to survive. Thank god she did! Their nurses are trained to just take vitals and if you have a problem getting through someone who can help like an office manager takes hours even days. I have explained what happened and no one cared. Yesterday a nurse came and pills are missing the bottle was empty after she came when it was a prescription for 10 days. They rarely call you to let you know at what time the nurse is coming. Yesterday a can was suppose to come and did not and no one calls. To try to cancel their services you get transfered again and again stay on hold for ever and had to beg to be able to speak to the office manager! They will send to your home tones of machines that you clearly stated you did not need and the only one we needed was not functioning ! I never received an apology for what happened. Their 24/7 service during weekend is a joke had to call multiple times to get hold of their answering services and it took 6 hours for the on call nurse to call back! The only one that was good was an on call nurse who does not work all week called Maydis .

Sonia was my grief counselor and she provided exceptional care and support during my families difficult time. She supported not only me but my father as well. She was a great resource of information. Above all, she listened and cared. Highly recommend their services.

My dad is just starting in Gentiva hospice system, so it’s too early to write a review about it, but we would like to mention Zoe Sugar. She was simply excellent in helping us to navigate the process. She was extremely polite and patient with us and immediately replied to all questions that we texted her. I can truly say that I have never met a medical professional with better bedside manners.
