THANK YOU to Team 197 in Orlando, Florida!! You showed incredible compassion, professionalism, and respect, ensuring comfort and dignity every single day and made an incredibly difficult time more bearable, not only for my father, but for me.
I’d like to give Iliana Collado, RN, special praise for her attentiveness, kindness, knowledge, compassion, and professionalism. She had an exceptional bedside manner, excellent follow-up and was a great communicator. I recognize and deeply respect her extraordinary work ethic and 24/7 availability. Her unwavering commitment was a blessing to us during such a difficult time. Iliana went above and beyond the regular call of duty and even attended my father’s memorial! She deserves to be recognized and praised for her exemplary hard work and commitment by providing exceptional hospice care.
Amy Summerville, Social Worker, was always available and shared a wealth of information and resources that were extremely helpful. She was kind, caring, and had exceptional follow up and was always available to speak with me. She inquired as to my well-being as I navigated the end-of life process with my father.
Jorge Betancourt, Chaplain, was also caring, kind and compassionate. My father and his wife looked forward to his weekly visits where he counseled and prayed with and for them.
Vitas Team 197 are a wonderful, caring, loving and professional group of people. Please accept my sincere appreciation and thanks for being there us during such a vulnerable time.
I highly recommend Vitas and have shared my experience and praise with family and friends to insure Vitas’ continued success. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. God bless all.

My grandmother was a hospice patient. My mother requested a priest, they never sent one. My grandmother couldn't eat towards the end. They waited too long to give her something other than Tylenol for her pain. I found out later there was a powder I should have been given so grandma can eat. Her lungs filled with liquids. I am still getting letters from a debt collector representing Miami Dade for an ambulance service they requested. I have called multiple times and it was not resolved.

VITAS provided exceptional and compassionate care to my beloved mother, Rosa L. Ortiz, during her five-year journey at home and through her final days.
I am deeply grateful to Nurse Lorena, Olkine, Silvana, Paola, Omayra, Evelia, Dr. Dowe, Robinson, Miguel, Xavier, and Chaplains Jorge and Sam for their kindness, professionalism, and heartfelt support.
They cared not only for my mother, but for me as her caregiver. Knowing she was surrounded by such dignity and compassion brought our family peace during the most difficult time.
Thank you, VITAS, for walking with us until the very end.

My mother is a hospice patient at an assisted living facility in Orlando, FL. Nurse Tayne Huergo was my mother's hospice nurse for at least one month when she was abruptly transferred to another facility. Vitas would get 5 stars if Nurse Tayne had not been transferred. If you are lucky enough to have Nurse Tayne care for your loved one, I envy you. I am so disappointed she was transferred. Her replacement is perfectly fine & efficient but Nurse Tayne brings the extra element of compassion. She truly cares about her patients and advocates for them. I cannot say enough good things about her. I'm a bit emotional as I deal with the loss of my mother's best caregiver so far. I live a long distance from my mom so I rely on the service providers in charge of her care.
