Tacoma park therapy is an amazing and welcoming place. throughout my life, I've experienced a lot of trauma.and haven't really had any outlets to sift through said trauma, and the people in this practice have been a world of help to me, which I'm forever grateful for. The people here are considerate and thoughtful. can't recommend them enough.

Simone Jacobs and her team are extraordinary. Simone runs a wonderful group therapy practice filled with astute clinicians, guided by deep and thoughtful principles who are compassionate caregivers. As a clinician myself, I often refer clients- children, adolescents , and adults- to Takoma Therapy knowing that they will be well cared for. Thank you to Takoma Therapy for all the great work you do for your clients and neighborhood community. I am inspired by your work.

I don't normally write reviews but I started therapy here because it was walking distance from my home and they take my insurance. I stayed because my therapist has helped me see some things I wasn't aware of that have literally changed my life. It has been hard at times, but worth the effort. I can't recommend it enough. Go in person if you can.

Despite the photos celebrating Black mental wellness and LGBTQ+ support, I can say with certainty that my husband and I received wildly inappropriate and poor treatment as two people of color. Our therapist was both price gouging and racist, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone with a marginalized identity. The therapist we sought support with told us we had to see her each separately, and told each of us that we had to commit to individual sessions before she would be willing to see us. I believe our experiences overwhelmed her, and instead of acknowledging any professional shortcomings, she still wanted us to spend $300 for individual sessions where she would tell us she refused to treat us. Just think about that, and consider this treatment and behavior before you set up any appointments with this place.

Takoma Therapy is a deeply supportive environment. Simone has been intentional about building a culturally diverse staff to meet the needs of a diverse community, and it shows in the care clients receive. Clinicians have real opportunities to grow from the LMSW level through full licensure, clinical supervision, and even administrative leadership. Staff are encouraged to bring their creativity into the work through developing groups, trainings, and new clinical ideas. Simone herself is genuinely kind and invested in her team. I would absolutely refer clients to her practice and clinicians to her team.
