I have only had my initial session so far, but it was very easy to find a therapist taking new clients within a couple of weeks, in addition to scheduling an appointment and answer the surveys. The platform is easy to navigate and very self explanatory. My therapist was amazing! I look forward to working with her more.

Thriveworks has great administration, and it was incredibly easy to make an appointment with no wait time. However, that's where the good experience ended. Our therapist was nice but completely ineffective. My husband and I went for couples counseling around whether we should have kids, and besides having us just do a pro/con list during session time (which is a waste of my money), she also said things like "you'll be such a great mom" which I found to be inconsiderate considering the reason I was there is because I'm not sure I want that. She also thought it was appropriate to tell us about her own life and experience with her kid rather than having us talk. All in the sessions were akin to talking to a relative pressuring us to have kids, but I paid for the experience instead (intro session and one actual session). The second session was so bad that my husband was passing me notes asking if we could end it early. I'm baffled why they thought this woman would be a good fit for us.
She also took another client's call during our time, which is inappropriate, and I passed that information on to Thriveworks.
Finally, we went to one of the DC offices for our visit in person, and when I went to get tap water, it was black. Not brown, black. Absolutely disgusting.
I really wanted to like Thriveworks for its ease and affordability, but I wanted actual therapy.
Edited to add: Yes, I will reach out via email, but you and anyone reading this should know I have already reported this information via text and did not receive a response.

Brandan Vazquez is a fantastic counselor. He's helped me so much by being a terrific listener, providing me with constructive feedback, establishing a great rapport so that I can trust him and feel comfortable being open and honest with him, and holding me accountable so that I take steps to achieve my goals, grow, and improve. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I've had to work with him.

After having worked with multiple counselors over the past two years, and struggling to find a good fit, I am so pleased to be working with the highly regarded Dr. Regina Lawson. Dr. Lawson is not only a brilliant clinician, but also a thoughtful listener and counselor. In particular, I appreciate Dr. Lawson's expertise in providing tools and expert insight to ensure that our sessions are productive, and that after a session I walk away knowing I have tools in my arsenal to ensure success. I have found that many counselors serve as listeners, but do not help navigate or provide the necessary tools to facilitate continued personal development. Dr. Lawson is also thoughtful and kind, but cares about the progress of her clients towards their personal goals, something I value a lot. Dr. Lawson offers both counseling to address mental health and career support. I am endlessly grateful for the work we have done so far over the past 6 months, and look forward to learning new tools to continue on my journey if self growth.
Additionally, Thriveworks provides an essential and easily accessible counseling service for the D.C. metro area, which is particularly critical in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. They offer a range of accessible tele-counceling services that allow me to continue receiving services remotely.
