A beautiful historical spot that’s also a great place to enjoy a picnic. This picturesque area is not only great for photography it’s also a great place to take a break and relax with a picnic lunch.

We brought our dogs to walk around Washington DC, and we were pleased to find so much of the area is dog friendly for walking, including the area around the Washington Monument! Of course dogs are not allowed inside, but that's okay as we were able to get some amazing photos just from walking around the grounds!
This is a beautiful area! You can see so much from here! There is just so much history here, and so much to learn as you walk around! We had a wonderful time!

Came out this evening to view the night time multimedia show projected onto the Obelisk itself. Quite impressive and moving.

The Washington Monument is an iconic obelisk on the National Mall, built to commemorate George Washington, the nation's first president. Standing at over 555 feet, it was the world's tallest structure upon its completion in 1884, constructed from marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss. The ring of 50 American flags highlights this powerful tribute. Whether silhouetted by the sunset or standing proud under a blue sky, it is a timeless D.C. landmark. This place is a must-see part of the National Mall, where you can spend an entire weekend exploring the surrounding free museums. For the best experience, I recommend coming around sunset to walk the grounds and the nearby Reflecting Pool for truly breathtaking views.

We went there for cherry blossom festivals. Very crowded and lively atmosphere. People showed up to fly kites, see cherry blossom, picnics. Lots of food truck around to eat. We took a long walk along the waters, very beautiful and scenic. Had random tulip plantations.
