Don’t let the nice exterior fool you. Unclean facilities, rude or disinterested admin staff and due to high turnover of nursing staff (not shocked) no one seemed to really do much. My only compliment would be to the actual folks running rehab exercises. My family member had to revisit the rehab facility and have multiple surgeries due to pressure wounds reoccurring and getting infected. Upon moving a family member all belongings were thrown in a trash bag, were largely not belongings of our family member and all clothing was filthy. We were not allowed to pack our families items. Turnover since the corporate changes several years ago keeps it disorganized and miserable for the residents in all levels of living. Flooding of independent apartments took a ridiculous amount of time to fix and elevators rarely all worked. This complex used to be a very well kept and run option for retirement living of all levels and now is just a sad commentary on the disgrace of care of elderly and ill in this country.

I recently visited my grandmother at this facility, and I left feeling deeply disappointed and concerned. During my visit, I overheard one of the RCCs speaking in a way that was dismissive and unprofessional. The tone was noticeably rude and lacked the compassion you would expect in a setting that is supposed to care for elderly residents. My grandmother has also shared that when she has spoken directly with this RCC, she felt the communication was condescending and belittling. No resident should ever feel talked down to, especially in a place they are paying to live and receive care. Another ongoing concern is the dining experience. The facility frequently runs out of basic items in the dining room, including simple condiments and essentials. For a facility that charges significant monthly fees, this should not be a recurring issue. Access to adequate food options and basic items is part of providing quality care and comfort to residents. When these concerns have been brought to administration, there appears to be little follow-through. My grandmother has expressed that she has spoken with members of leadership, including the director, but the response is often simply acknowledged without any noticeable change or action taken. Additionally, administration is rarely seen outside of their offices engaging with residents or families, which raises further concerns about oversight and involvement. Given the high cost of this facility, the level of service, responsiveness, and overall attentiveness does not match the price being paid. Families expect dignity, respect, accountability, and quality care for their loved ones. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. I truly hope management takes these concerns seriously and works toward meaningful improvements for the residents who depend on them.

Mandee Darrah helpd us yesterday with the podiatry clinic at Homestead Hills. She was very organized and efficient. The Dr and I really enjoyed having her assist us. Hopefully she will be able to help us again on our next visit.

Moving to Homestead Hills is one of the best decisions I have ever made. In my first seven weeks I have met dozens of residence from both the cottages and the villas. I can honestly say every one of them was extraordinarily friendly and welcoming. This is also true of the entire staff, both management and maintenance. They are all eager to help in any way and are competent, engaging and prompt to address any and all requests. I can truly say that the peace of mind this community provides is a real gift. I would recommend Homestead Hills to anyone looking for a safe, caring and loving community. Darling F Ward

Forsyth Humane Society is grateful for our partnership with Homestead Hills. Their kind and dedicated staff and friendly residents join us for weekly Woof Walks with shelter dogs at Reynolda Village. Everyone enjoys the outing and fellowship. We appreciate their participation and support, and look forward to a continued relationship with Homestead Hills. My experience with everyone there, staff and residents, has been nothing but positive.
