Highly recommend getting tickets in advance (a month prior) or when they release extra tickets the day before. It's possible to get tickets on the day if there are any left but that's not always the case. The view was great, same as the whole experience 💯.
They don't let too many people up at the same time so you don't have to wait in line to look through the windows. There's a small museum inside about the history of the monument.

Wasn’t organized enough to book tickets for the Washington Monument ahead of time so tried for the walk-up tickets they release every day at 8.45am. Got here around 8.15am on a Sunday and there were about 30 people ahead of me, managed to snag tickets to go up at 9am!

This is where you get tickets. Don’t waste your time waiting near the monument like i did. Come straight to this place. They start to give out 200 tickets at 8:45 and tours start at 9 until last lot of 4 in the afternoon.
Bathrooms not great but they do have it there. Water fountain is also available.

Got here around 7am on a cold morning to snag tickets to Wash Monument. The ticket window opens at about 845 AM. There were 6 people waiting ahead of me and by the time the window opened there were 50 people in line. Each person can get a max of 6 tickets. It looks like they were able to accommodate the ticketing needs for that morning.

Arrive and get in the same-day ticket queue by about 8:15 (on a weekday) and you will probably get a ticket. The ticket window opens at 8:45. If you get in line at 8:30 it is probably too late (varies by season and weather of course). Met a really friendly park volunteer there while we waited in line.
