My father has lived at Gaines Ranch (independent living with a small level of additional assistance from the very helpful in-house Brookdale At Home services) for 9 months. Prior to moving to Gaines Ranch (after living with me for a year and a half), he was not interested in exploring senior communities at all, but now he loves it.
I visit daily to spend time with him and it is such a wonderful place to visit. I alway feel welcome to join in the activities, the staff greets me by name, I have made many new "senior" friends and my father loves being independent again and having a steady stream of activities and friends in his peer group. The entire place feels friendly, welcoming and very much like home. The director and his staff go out of their way to serve selflessly and address the residents' needs in an efficient and timely manner. No job is below them and they work together wonderfully. It shows in their low turnover rate.
It feels to me like my father has actually gotten younger since moving to Gaines Ranch! It is all of the fun with none of the worry - for both my father and myself. I get to be the daughter again and just enjoy quality time with my father and he knows he is well cared for yet still independent in a consistently well maintained loving environment even when I have to travel out of town.
UPDATE: 3 years later and my opinion has only gotten better. It is a welcoming place because of the staff and residents who all contribute to making it cozy and fun!

My family is very thankful for the excellent care our dad receives at Brookdale. Our dad is very active with the activities and the nursing staff is kind & professional! We sleep well at night knowing he is in good hands!

To start off I will say my grandma seemed to enjoy this location very much. They seemed to take care of all the residents and dealt with issues in a timely manner. However my grandma had an episode and had to be transported to the hospital and then a rehabilitation center. She hadn't been gone but a few days when my uncle went to check on her room since she had not been there. To his and my mom's surprise all my grandmas jewelry had been run through. She had prop jewelry that had not been touched but her wedding ring, my grandpa's ring, and an opal ring with rubies had all been taken. The manager claims my grandma had memory issues and that could possibly be the reason they were missing. Well we have pictures that show she has it the day before her episode. DO NOT send your loved ones here, if you do make sure you hang on to anything of value. I've reached out to a few other residents that have had issues as well. This review is just the beginning as well. I will be reaching out to fox 7 investigates and other news outlets to find out what is happening at this location. If you see signs posted on the sidewalk about them being thieves, that also will be my doing. Please think twice before you send a loved one to this location.

I started coming to this building about three years ago as a clinician. I pretty much judge every building by how the resident was treated and how they spoke about the community. The residents consistently loved talking about Gaines Ranch. They would talk about their friends, their favorite activities, how they could walk inside in the summer & still get there steps in. They genuinely loved it. The only downside was I had to revolve my schedule around their hair and social schedules.
I also have personal memories of this community. I remember picking up my best friend’s grandma to drive her to my best friend’s wedding. I made some joke about her living in a fancy hotel and she told me I had no idea how good it was. I’m pretty sure I had some comment about how I was gonna be here neighbor.
I recently went into this community and realized it was still beautiful and bustling with life and fun. It’s easy to get distracted by how beautiful it is and how well-maintained it is. However, I am always going to focus on how happy the residents are.
I recently had the good fortune of meeting Audry and Eliza, they are both wonderful women who are very easy to work with. If you know anyone looking for a beautiful, thriving, independent living community. Make sure to send them to Brookdale Gaines Ranch.

Brookdale has been an outstanding place for my father-in-law to live for the past couple years. I would take my kids to visit him almost every Wednesday which happens to be happy hour for the residents. They serve food and alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages.
Throughout the year they have events that include kids, like for Halloween and Christmas. My kids loved this!
Overall this has been the best place for my father-in-law to live, the staff is so friendly, the food is good and Nic (GM) was so understanding when we had to move out. 10 stars, cheers!!!
