I would NOT recommend this facility if you are a senior with health issues. I will explain why! Visitation hours are from 10am-8pm but they are leanient as long as you respect the roommate. They do have activities which we liked. We seen senior active which was a plus for us. Now in regards to the rooms. All rooms are either 2 beds or 3 beds. No private rooms. Each room has a restroom but some restrooms are shared between TWO rooms. So that means 4 or 5 seniors shared the same restroom. No shower in the room. The showers are located in a deiffernt room that is also shared. The room my mother had needed the floors clean you can litterly see stains on the floor and walls, the paint was chipping off, drawer was broken. They do have there own small T.V BUT it has NO remote control you have to change channel manually (my mom has a little arthritis in her hand and knees) so it was hard for her to change the channel. They have a lamp Above there bed. To turn that light ON/OFF you have to pull a string ( We had my mom try it and she was unable to turn it ON/OFF) we also pulled the string were my mother was and we also couldn't Turn it OFF/ON. Only way to turn it OFF/ON you had to get closer to the mental chain Which defeats the purpose of the dame string. Now in regards to the staff.. They are friendly when mother was settle in she needed to use the restroom. (While we were present) We seen the nurse where very prompt and helped her take her to the restroom room. Clean her up and brought her back. They were gentle and courteous with her. They reported on paper all her belongings and checked her skins for any cuts or blisters. They also cleaned her up and changed her bandages. Since she arrived late she missed dinner but the staff did accommodate her and made her a sandwich, chip, milk, water and yogurt. Once we made sure she was ok we left. My mother would called us thru out the night. (1st 🚩 flag) She was Letting us know no one came in to check on her at night. She would tell us that she would press the assistant button but they would take so long to come in. She would tell them she needed to use the restroom and the nurse would tell her to use it in the bed and that they would cleaner her up (which they did). There was a issue with medication (mother likes to be informed what she is taking and what time) after informing the main RN she worked with us and printed out medication and scheduled for her. We arrived to the senior home and spoke to he RN and went over everything and explained to our mother. Which was great and we appreciated that they took the time to put her at easy.. Here is were it took a turn!! My mom face started twitching as she was explaining to use what she didn't like about the facility and why she wanted to go home (This mother 1st time in a senior rehabilitation facility and she was only going to stay there for 7days) her face has never twitched before till that day. They had a record of her medical history! They knew she has BP and heart condition! We asked nurse what was her BP and nurse said we haven't check yet. So we ask ok when you guys last check what was her BP. They said we haven't checked it at all!! (2nd 🚩 flag) They informed us they only check before they give her her BP medication!! (3rd 🚩 flag) Once they check her BP her heart rate was high!! Her face was twitching. I informed nurse her face was twitching and she was not responding verbally that has never happened. We asked nurse to call the DR. Because they inform us they had one in the facility. Well turns out there was no on call Dr. In the facility! We Asked nurse to call the 🚑 nurse said ok. Nurse came back and said we would like to evaluate her 1st! We said no and demand them to call the 🚑. Once 🚑 came after informing them the issue (4th 🚩 flag) they asked us why it took nurse so long to check her BP knowing she has heart problems and why it took them long to call 911!! (My mother was having a seizure and close to stroke)!!! This is why I would not recommend this facility to any senior that has Medical issues!!!

A good friend is at this rehab facility. I have visited each day for the past week. The staff has been professional, caring, and attentive to his needs. They are all friendly, with smiles on their faces. It is very clean as well. I am grateful to the Facilities Director, Clint, for his kindness and care to its patients.

After visiting several skilled nursing facilities around the Long Beach area, I can confidently say Broadway by the Sea is in a league of its own. From the moment I walked in, I could tell the staff weren’t just skilled—they were kind, caring, and funny! The staff somehow manages to make tough times feel lighter. My dad, who’s not exactly a “go with the flow” kind of guy (think: handful… physically and mentally), has been treated with so much patience, humor, and dignity. A special shout-out to Yelena, who deserves her own award—or at least her own parking spot. She made the transition from the hospital to Broadway by the Sea feel seamless. She checked in after he was settled, coordinated with the nurses, doctors, and even helped with insurance questions. She truly made us feel like family—something that’s becoming rare these days. If you’re looking for a place where the people genuinely care, laugh often, and treat your loved one like their own, Broadway by the Sea is the one. I walked away feeling confident that my dad was in good hands. Highly recommend this place for anyone whose elderly loved one might be “a handful.” They’ll handle it—with skill, kindness, and a great sense of humor. 💙

Broadway by The Sea is honestly one of the best care facilities I’ve ever seen. The staff here are amazing — so kind, patient, and really dedicated to what they do. You can tell they truly care about their patients and take the time to make everyone feel comfortable and supported. The building is always clean, bright, and welcoming, and the whole team works together like a family. It’s such a positive environment, and you can feel the difference in the way patients are treated. I’m so impressed by the level of compassion and professionalism here — they really go above and beyond every single
