The Order of Free and Accepted Masonry is very old. In fact, my grandparents are in the Order. Unfortunately, the Order itself is not respected as much as it should, because it's very antiquated and NOT up-to-date with the era. FAAM was well before the D9, but have not grown. For example: meetings are on U Street with no parking, plus members have to be in all white and suits. Meeting should be in business attire and while it may have worked in the past, it's a lot to meet the demands of work and personal life with those that are unnecessary, people will choose. Degrees and special engagements should be the only time members are expected to be uniformity. In addition, the meetings can let out very late for people who have small kids, work, health, and safety reasons in the most busiest part of the City. Definitely not good for seniors such as my grandparents. Somethings should be via email and maybe one day they'll get a Most Worshipful Grand Master who will understand the significance of holding onto the Order or traditions that doesn't bring engagement or participation no matter how many lines they bring in. The constitution and Bylaws probably haven't been changed since 1800s. But I digress. 🫶🏾
