Heartland Hospice

The care that heartland gave my grandfather was nothing short of amazing. I brought my grandpa home so we could give him the best quality of the life he had left. I had so many questions and was so nervous that I wasn’t doing things properly but the nurses (Jade, Sarah, and Adina) always reassured me how amazing I was doing with him. Any questions I had they would have the answers. They not only provided comfort and care for Stan the Man but they did that for me as well and I will always be grateful for all of them.

The ladies from Heartland took care of my mother for over 2 years. She was well into her 90s and already had both knees, both hips replaced. She had had back surgery along with a few other little problems. She was suffering from onset dementia. She was not always in the best of moods. The girls were the greatest. They would have her eating out of their hands. Every single Heartland care giver knew exactly what it took to make her happy. From the nurse down to the girl who came twice a week to help her shower. They sent a lady to massage her feet and legs once a week. They talked about everything from gardens, to motorcycles, to cookie recipes. The volunteers who called weekly to check on her needs were amazing. I’m not sure of the titles, but the caseworker was great. Every time she came to visit, she always brought treats. Mom loved cookies and snacks and they always made sure she was taken care of. The end of life team took over at the end did the greatest job of keeping everyone calm and kept mom comfortable. I can’t even begin to tell you what everyone of those ladies means to our family. They all ended up being the daughters she never had. I’m sure the care she received extended her life by months if not years.

How can we possibly capture our gratitude in words? Heartland Hospice not only transitioned my mom through her journey, they transitioned me and my family! I could never have had her home with us had it not been for the love ( yes, genuine love) and support of my Heartland nurses and their 24 hour support team. Anyone can be trained in nursing skills and running a business, but "care" takes on new meaning with Heartland! They deserve a 20/10 !!!

I cannot say enough about the compassionate care my loved one received from Heartland Hospice here in Fort Wayne. From the very first call, the entire team was kind, supportive, and attentive to our needs. The nurses and aides treated my Mom with dignity and respect, always ensuring she was comfortable and at peace. They also provided emotional support and guidance to our family, which made a difficult time a little easier to bear. I am truly grateful for their dedication and would highly recommend Heartland Hospice to anyone in need of end-of-life

We Had both of my parents through the care of Heartland hospice, and could not have been happier. The care that they received was beyond expectation. Their nurse at the time was so friendly to them and would always cheer them up with a warm smile and a laugh! I would highly recommend this company. they were also very helpful to the family with questions and concerns when need be, especially at the end.
