UMC Hospice Care, an Amedisys Partner

While we only had a short time before mother passed on to Glory, this team of nurses, social workers and chaplains gave us more love, care and attention than I ever expected. They stepped in and did everything in their power to make mother comfortable. They also gave so much love and support to my son and me. The intake nurse came out at 10:00 pm and was there for 2 hours. This was after a long day st work and had to go to school the next morning. Mother’s nurse was so gentle with her. She made sure there was enough pain medicine to keep her comfortable. The morning after admit the bather came in and gave her a complete bed bath. I could tell mother was out comfortable afterwards. The bather was truly an angel. The chaplain was such a blessing. She brought her guitar and sang to mother. The day mother went Home to Glory was so special. The entire team was there including a medical student that was doing his end of life rotation. He was so kind. The chaplain “sang mother home” beautifully. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. Before the funeral home came several of the team bathed and washed mother’s hair. The nurse even braided it. Extra little details that made a difference. My only regret was not calling them sooner. Mother would have loved them all as much as I do. I would strongly suggest UMC Hospice to anyone needing Hospice care. Mindy and her team are top notch!

I can not even begin to explain how grateful my family and I are for the UMC hospice care team. Our family could not have gotten through the last couple of months with our momma/mimi without them!! They are hands down the most caring, helpful and knowledgeable team I have ever worked with and in my career I've worked with many agencies. No other agency even compares to this team!!! Thank you for all you guys do!!

I just want to come on here to praise the ladies that took AMAZING care of my mother in her final days. I truly don’t know what I would have done without them. They we not only nurse but the were HUGE supporters from the day we decided hospice was now what was best for our mother. They came in with so much reassurance and support. Mindy was absolutely amazing with always being a phone call away while she just listened to me cry many time. Katlyn was truly the BEST nurse I could have asked for again always a phone call away, if you needed ANYTHING she got it to you right then you didn’t have to wait. Devin was always so caring when coming to see mom on a weekly bases, mom absolutely loved her and would always ask when the ladies coming. These ladies don’t work to get paid and it shows these ladies LOVE what they do and they are great at it!! Thank you ladies, there’s not enough words to thank your team for everything they did for mom! If you are looking for care for your loved ones hands down it would be this amazing team!! Again thank you UMC Hospice for the amazing care you gave my momma!!

Hands down the best hopsice in Lubbock! Their team has the most caring, educated and helpful people who treat your loved ones like it’s their own family. There aren’t words for how grateful and impressed I am with this group. The education, communication and care far exceed expectations. Thank you UMC Hospice for being such a blessing.
