My grandson was being treated for leukemia and our daughter was distraught. The facility provided us with food, shelter, toys, transportation, everything we could need. My only regret was witnessing 2 employees telling a very dignified volunteer that her work was only scut work. They told her that is what volunteers here do, scut work. How insulting. Had I not witnessed this mistreatment of those who work without compensation I would have openly given this otherwise valuable charity with five stars.

This place is truly wonderful, the staff is extraordinary. They greet everyone with a smile, they treat everyone kindly and they offer such wonderful experiences. I was at such a low point in life, but they helped make everything so much easier.
The common areas are modern, and clean. VERY clean.
They offer 2 dining areas - one that is primarily dinner time gathering spot, and the other a breakfast // snack bar. They ALWAYS have delicious foods, snacks, and treats available for us, and the children. We could even bring a baggy of snacks to the hospital for our kiddos.
The rooms were spacious, and allowed a few visitors at a time to stay with us. They suggest leaving about a $10/nightly rate but it is not required!! I did donate $250 last year for our stay as they changed my whole stay experience.
They were truly kind to myself, and my son.
They offered activities for the kids and adults.
The gym was so clean and helpful, so was the play rooms, game room, and laundry rooms!
They even had an outdoor play area that my 2 year old LOVED. We easily spent 4 hours a day at one of the two outdoor play areas.
They allowed us to carve pumpkins, and set them around the yard for everyone to enjoy too.
This place truly is one of a kind I’m so grateful for everyone there.

This is an incredible house! Everyone is so welcoming. I love that I was able to come do laundry when someone stayed with my son in the hospital. When someone came to the hospital, I could go back to the RMH and take a nap. Wonderful place!

Our family is very thankful for Ronald McDonald House in Madison. We stayed there for our daughters brain tumor removal, and will continue to do so when possible for follow up appointments. They provide family meals, and comfortable and safe place to stay close to AFCH, and the staff are great. The lady who took care of the rooms always asked how our daughter was doing when we would see her, and we really appreciated that. We've also made some great friends who stayed at the same time as us. It was a great experience during a not so great time.
Also, the playroom is awesome!
