Matters of the Heart Counseling

I have known Richie leatherwood for far longer than he has started in, and excelled in his professional career of being a counselor. With this in mind I can tell all who are reading that Richie was born to be a counselor. For as long as I have known Richie he has been one of the most selfless men I have met. Countless times I have experienced Richie patiently listening to and wisely guiding not only myself but everyone around him. I believe through experience that Richie has a true gift from God to counsel individuals with wisdom, humility, and patience. Outside of his God given talents I can attest that Richie has the man hours of studying, experience and drive to classify him as an expert in counseling and guiding all people. You couldn’t go wrong meeting with Richie at-least once.

Love this place! Richie was super helpful and a great listener. I felt very safe opening up to him and he’s been very encouraging through my struggles/problems. Just a great person to be around and talk to. I was able to talk about Jesus and life with Richie and he not only understood what I’ve been through from personal experience. But he had very sound advice for me to get me on the other side of my “dark times” and now I’m the best version of myself bc of Richie. 10/10 recommend thanks Richie!

I highly suggest this place. We have used Kristen as our marriage counselor and she has been amazing. She has been so helpful in what my wife and I needed from her. She has been professional, caring, and she is just generally a great therapist. She really knows her stuff and seems like she can handle just about any scenario/problem you can throw her way. When I first considered Matters of the Heart, the owner Joanna assured me that we would be in good hands with Kristen and she did not disappoint at all. We have been very satisfied and I am so happy I chose this place.

Joanna gave a dynamic and engaging workshop to our group of counselors. She is fun, entertaining, and extremely knowledgable. She reframed anxiety, gave us tips and tools we can use, and we walked away feeling refreshed with some new tools in our toolbox! Highly recommend her as a counselor and speaker for any group!
