As peculiar as it seems, planning for my final act has been most enjoyable.😊 My "Love guide" Ms Dionna Brown was A-ma-zing! Her extensive knowledge of this business was comforting and calming. No thing was too great or simple. In fact, I found myself laughing most of the time which probably surprised her. Nonetheless, having my burial plan in place is one of the ways I am able to show true love to my loved ones left behind. They'll have enough to contend with at my leaving this plain of existence. Thank you Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home and a most loving appreciation to Ms. Dionna Brown. It is finished.😌🙏🏾💙

I engaged Cook-Walden Forest Oaks for my wife’s and daughter’s service. Be prepared for common sales structures: “good-better-best” pricing, “sticker shock” anchoring, a “gauge tactic” (suggesting a premium option to see if you’re prepared), and the loss of bundled discounts once you remove items. Even after removing services, our total remained close to the original anchor. Financing was offered as six months no-interest. What many people do not understand is that if the balance is not paid in full within that period, interest — over 30% — can be applied retroactively from day one. In a moment of grief, that can turn into long-term debt. We resolved a plot numbering error at no immediate cost, though an additional $5,000 was later added under cemetery charges. On the day of the service, both public bathrooms were out of order and exposed switches were present in the whole area while children were in attendance. I am giving two stars. The facility itself is clean and visually well kept. The process and financial structure, however, left me unsettled. To employees and others in this industry: I encourage you to step back and consider how these structures feel to families in their most vulnerable moments. To anyone reading this: Take your time. Bring support. Shop your options (urn and flowers for example) Review contracts carefully. Understand financing terms completely. You are allowed to pause. And if you’re reading this while grieving. I am truly sorry for your loss.

They assisted us during time of hospice with our loved one until we said our final good-byes at the graveside service. They helped us find the perfect violinist to play our loved ones requested music at the graveside service. So many in attendance commented how beautiful the service was. They were a good partner helping us plan and fulfill our loved ones requests.

When my sweet hubby died suddenly. They were the only place I would take him. And when my son and I went to set the arrangements. I felt comfortable and at home. They heard our feelings and were thoughtful... And we then went had him dressed the day before the service. They handled it with love. And I got to a few minutes alone with him. Which I really needed. The day of the service. Wow thank u all. It was so perfect. Was more than we planned. I an so ever grateful for you and your service ❤️
