Thriveworks Counseling & Child Therapy Columbus

I have nearly nothing bad to say about the therapist and psychiatrist that I saw here; both Emilee and Taylor were amazing, kind, and understanding providers. However, I have consistently had issues with the billing department at Thriveworks. After initiating over 25 phone calls, the issues with insurance coverage and billing have still not been resolved, and I have been forced to stop seeing my therapist and psychiatrist after working with them for over 2 years. I am extremely disappointed by Thriveworks' lack of response or support, particularly over email. The billing department has completely stopped responding to my family's emails about the insurance coverage issues. After asking my therapist and psychiatrist about what else I could do to resolve these issues, the most response I have gotten is to continue contacting management and billing departments. I will not be using this company's services ever again. I am extremely disappointed.

I wanna start this by saying the therapist we deal with is amazing and we love her. We have no issues with her what so ever!! Theiveworks however seems to be a nightmare to deal with. I sent multiple emails with my new Insurnace one in November another in December and they still canceled all our appointments because they didn’t have the updated Insurnace and I had to respond to the canceling email and then send the insurance cards again. The billing people were entirely unhelpful only used one insurance and told me I owed $170. Mind you it’s 2/3 days in between email reply’s. We’ve missed 3 session trying to get this billing figured out when our Insurance is accepted and I’ve sent it in. Again our therapist is amazing we love her but thriveworks needs to work on something here.

I for real look forward to my visits. There’s no judgment from her, no dirty looks or whoa vibes. she’s calm, steady, and lets my words go off and wander in conversation. When she does speak, her words are minimal but powerful, and they really stay with me. I’m really thankful for her

I came to this place because I needed to see a therapist right away and they got me in within a couple days. I had 1 session. The connection was awful. Our session kept getting cut off. Also they insist I had an appt on a day I did not. I tried to talk to them about it but of course I’m wrong. So I’m stuck paying a no show fee of $135! This place is a scam! I cancelled my upcoming appts and will go back to life stance.

This review is for the company and billing department. Since starting as a client with thriveworks less than a year ago, I have been billed incorrectly multiple times due to their billing department filing insurance claims incorrectly or billing me as uninsured when they had my insurance on file. They do billing through a third party service that does not care to correct mistakes. My first refund request took them over 5 months to complete. I have been incorrectly billed $420 total ($125, $125, and $170 at different times). You have to keep a card on file with them so you can't dispute a bill until after they already took the money. I am still waiting on a refund of the $170 that they billed me randomly as self pay. My therapist was great but at this point I am spending more time talking to billing than in therapy sessions. Edit: it has been 9 months and I have been incorrectly billed again. They currently owe me $250. I am no longer using their services due to purely the money issues.
