I won’t go into a long, detailed review about my experience but I just want to take the time to commend Ms. Jessica, Ryan, and the Davey tree guys, Evan and Tevin for moving mountains to help me and my mom today at Evergreen. What started out as a somber visit turned out to be a day making experience due to these 4 people going out of their way to be kind and help us. 🩷 It was an exceptionally pleasant adventure!

Attended the Evergreen Cemetery 2025 Fall Tour on Sunday, November 2. I had driven past the cemetery many times but had never been on the grounds. Working with the Jacksonville History Center, Evergreen Cemetery offered walking tours of some of the most famous of its current residents. History Center members played the parts of three of the residents (Cora Crane, Mary Nolan, and Adrian Pillars) who were dressed in vintage clothing and told the history of their lives. Our History Center guide, Susan, provided the details of the other gravesites we visited as well as historical information about the cemetery. It was a great way to support the cemetery and history society and the $15 ticket was well worth it. Our walking tour lasted approximately 2 hours. I hope they will schedule another tour with different gravesites in the spring.

The five stars are for one person, George Lomax
His efforts got me the map of cemetery with note to exact location of my grandfather’s grave !! This was after 3 weeks of calling and speaking to other staff members that did nothing to help.
It amazes me that one person can make all the difference in service’s rendered!
Thanks again George. Your efforts were truly appreciated and people like you make the world a better place to live!

I enjoy driving into this Cemetery to see the many older grave markers. And also to see Hawks, Owls and so many other birds. Squirrels everywhere and other wildlife that feel safe to a point.

Sadly I can not give Evergreen a good review. I have several members of my family there, sense the 1970's and forward. I used to go out there at least twice a year to put flowers down. When my own health started to fail, I could not go and keep an eye on things. Well there is no easy way to say this, but they FAILED my family terribly. Now as of June 2018, it looks like the picture below. I AM DEVASTATED EMOTIONALLY. I will not recommend this place to ANYONE. To lose our family is bad enough, but to see them in a place like this - is the definition of living in the midst of a BROKEN TRUST ON HOLY GROUND. Our family paid a LOT of money for the security of knowing final expenses would be taken care of and in such a nice place to lay to rest. My Daddy was a Truck Driver and my Mama was a Cleaning Lady, so it was a hardship to pay for these final resting places. Very hard to do but they did it. Now look at this mess. I can't help but think we all would have been better off in POTTER'S FIELD. - BUYER BEWARE.
