Disappointing experience with Make-A-Wish, specifically with representative Marcia. After my son's month-long ICU stay and near-death experience, the hospital staff assured us he qualified for a wish. However, Marcia's response was insensitive and unprofessional, lacking empathy and understanding. Her comment about it being a "good thing" he didn't qualify was hurtful.
The organization's handling of our case was disappointing, and we were left feeling disheartened and unheard. If you're looking for a organization that truly cares about children's well-being, you might want to think twice about Make-A-Wish.
What's particularly egregious is that Make-A-Wish initially gave my child hope by telling him he qualified for a wish, only to later retract that promise. This broken promise not only wasted our time but also caused unnecessary emotional distress for my child, who is already battling a serious health condition. The lack of transparency, communication, and empathy from Make-A-Wish is staggering, and it's clear that they need to reevaluate their processes to prioritize the well-being of the families they interact with.

I am very sad to see some of the changes that have occurred. Having a locked front door is so uninviting. I think the new CEO was the only person whom had a personality. Make a wish snv used to be a comfort place for myself, my wish kids and whole family. It feels so stuffy and sad now.

What can you say about an organization that wants nothing more than to deliver life-changing experiences to kids whose lives are threatened by severe diseases? We we're fortunate to have had the opportunity to take our daughter to Disney World, Universal, Sea World, and Give Kids The World in Orlando. It was an amazing adventure that made A HUGE impact on our daughter and the entire family.
Now, six years later, our daughter is a Make a Wish ambassador. The organization doesn't part ways with you after the Wish is over. They keep the families involved by inviting them to special events, fund raisers, etc.

Loved the tour through the new office. Very friendly, helpful and willing to take time to meet you. I love what this organization does and the people that come together for the kids and families. This is a charity that is worth the donation. It goes to the wishes and not some corporate superstructure.
If you are curious to be a part or have a wish nominee, definitely contact them. The office is so bright and open with displays of past wishes that were granted and ones on the process.
