The woman at the front desk who facilitates the pantry box pickups is very rude & off putting . She also gave other families double the food and produce that I received all 3 times I’ve received a small amount of duplicate items. My box today contained pickle jars 4 bags of pears 4 bags of fish stick type patties and a couple cans of pinto beans . My box was only 1/3 full. While a family before me received 2 boxes overflowing with vegetables at the top. I can’t help but think that she has a personal problem with me because I have done nothing to deserve that type of treatment. I will never step foot in lighthouse again.

I came here today 03/16/2026 at 10:00 am to get signed up for an order and the lady working the front could not have been any nicer and more welcoming. She got me signed up within a few minutes and I was out in about 15 minutes. She was very detailed when explaining how everything works. Thank You Thank you for all you do.

WOW did I happen upon one of the coolest places in Las Vegas today!
Brityn, the community outreach specialist, was my BEACON-- greeting me at the door and GUIDING me on a thorough tour through the main facility. She is a LIGHT, and truly captures the essence of this amazing organization!
Lighthouse Charities' mission is to "empower the vulnerable and displaced by providing access to opportunities that promote self-sufficiency, encourage personal growth, foster healing and restore hope."
In a nutshell, they are helping refugees learn English, obtain resources for daily living as well as assistance in housing, mental health, transportation and welfare services.
But WAIT!! There's waaaay more!
They are coordinating with the greater Vegas community through their workforce training programs:
The Rejesha Project- which reclaims linens from Caesar's and transforms them back into useable cleaning supplies.
Frosted Bakery (pictured!) which generates income for the organization through their sale of in-house made baked goods and catering items-- which the public can ALSO purchase ON SITE! Brityn explained that there is a Ukrainian baker among others-- and I personally hope they let her bring some of her heritage's baked goods to the menu once in a while!!
Rose Creek Farms which is a 2-acre garden growing organic foods along with chickens, and which not only trains those wanting to farm but ALSO can assist with a path to certification and small business opportunities. I was THRILLED to pick up 2 dozen eggs, 2 spaghetti squashes, and a smattering of beautiful red and green bell peppers today! (pictured!)
Taco Moto Training Program for manufacturing motorcycle parts for sale and distribution.
Nafasi Designs which encourages the development of new skills and hidden talents along with friendships and hope.
I'm just delighted Lighthouse Charities is in MY city, and I hope to check in often and tell the world about them :)

From the moment I arrived at Lighthouse Charities, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff truly embody compassion, respect, and dignity, and their commitment to supporting refugees, immigrants, and at-risk families is inspiring.
Lighthouse Charities doesn’t just offer temporary aid—they empower individuals and families through ESL classes, case management, or holistic support services to build lasting, independent futures. It’s a place that offers not just assistance, but hope.
What sets Lighthouse apart is its people. Cindy’s empathetic leadership and vision have created an environment where everyone—clients, staff, and volunteers—works together with kindness and a shared passion for the mission.
And don’t miss the Frosted Bakery! Their giant cinnamon rolls are a must-try, and the soups made with fresh produce from their own garden are equally delicious. The warmth and care in the bakery, especially from Lulu, mirror the welcoming energy throughout the entire facility.
I highly recommend visiting Lighthouse Charities—whether you’re looking to volunteer, donate, seek assistance, or enjoy some tasty treats. It’s a place making a real difference in the community, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of it as an intern.
