Pike's Peak Hospice was a bright light in a very hard time for my family. I can't say enough good about the care, the facility, and the kindness and capacity of everyone we encountered there. It was a beautiful, quiet, warm place that allowed us to be present with our family member who was dying. The support services then and after have been so helpful. This was an unexpected grace in a sad time. Thank you all!!!!! (every nurse, every CNA, Grace, Amanda, everyone).

Well, I couldn't think of a better facility anywhere. Of all of the Hospice facilities I have been to, this is by far the best. This is the golden standard for any hospice facility. Come and see for yourself. The staff has been professional with their tone. None of them are heard laughing and joking around like they can't read the room. No, this place is professional. The room is very big. We had 11 people in here comfortably. We had 3 dogs in the room at one time and no one said a word or gave us a look or anything unprofessional. We never had to ask for anything because they were taking care of everything before we could even think to ask. They flipped him from one side to the other like 4 times a day to preven ulcers and to make sure he was comfortable at all times. My grandfather went peacefully at 3am and that's when the nurse came in to check on him, otherwise we wouldn't have know for hours. Two of us slept here every night and we were very comfortable. We had volunteers sing songs in spanish and english, one day we had a veteran honor him with a certificate for his service and a card. This was so awesome. I could say so much more, but I recommend you withou hesisation. Guys.... you did a fantastic job and I give you all the praise you deserve for what you continue to do. Thank you for your service.

After 2 weeks in the hospital and our loved made the choice to “just be comfortable”. Pikes Peak Hospice was the best choice we could have made! From the moment we initiated hospice in the hospital, the liaison for Pikes Peak Hospice came in, gave us our options for hospice and answered any questions we had. We opted for the inpatient facility because we wanted her grandbabies to be able to be there. Within 3 hours our loved was at the facility. She saw her grandbabies, kids, friends. There was the kitchen area all the family could eat together. The sunroom where we could all sit and visit. The outdoor garden area was so peaceful and beautiful. The entire facility is beautiful and amazing. Ok, now the most important part, THE STAFF! Every person we met was so nice and answered any questions we had. We were there until 10 pm one night, we were laughing, talking, celebrating our loved one and the staff never once made any issue of anything. The nurses and CNAs would take their time to tend to our loved one and made sure she was comfortable. Our loved one was so peaceful the entire time. We were only there 3 days, our loved one was very sick. But the impression this place left on all of us is something we will hold close to our hearts. 💕 This place is amazing and will make this time a truly special one.

We used Pikes Peak for both Palliative Care and Hospice Support. It took several weeks for them to get started with their services, in fact I called them in June and got stuck in an insurance discussion until they finally came to our home in September. A month went by before a second visit occurred. By November, my mom's illness had progressed significantly and she was recommended for hospice care. The hospice team responded more quickly but by December we had to put mom in a nursing home because we couldn't provide the caregiver support we needed at home. From that point forward, Pikes Peak Hospice seemed to have failure after failure. Her supplies were never delivered on time. Her nurses did not see her regularly. Her CNA skipped visits. And worst of all, she did not receive the pain and comfort meds that she needed as her symptoms went unrecognized for two weeks. When they finally acknowledged that she needed more medication it took over 8 hours on the first occasion, and over 12 hours on the second to be delivered. We fired hospice as my mom lay dying, and brought in a new team who treated her with the dignity, compassion and care she deserved. Pikes Peak Hospice's treatment was unacceptable. Though I do not blame any single staff member, their processes are broken and I recommend you look elsewhere for the services you need.

Our experience with immediate home services and quick-turn in-patient care was exceptionally compassionate, timely, and comfortable. An extraordinary doctor did an in-home visit and thoroughly answered many questions while on palliative care. When we needed to adjust to home hospice earlier than we planned, a wonderful nurse came to our home late at night to help us within 1.5 hours of calling. While in-patient, the care and comfort provided exceeded all of our expectations. All four nurses and the various CNAs we encountered were thoroughly competent, calming, and most impressively responded to every call light in under a minute, if not 30 seconds. They answered all of our questions with immense patience and care and were gentle, kind, and compassionate towards both the patient and family. The center is absolutely beautiful and the 24/7 visitor policy and ability to comfortably stay overnight and all day with patients was relieving to our family. No one wants to be at a hospice center but Pikes Peak was comfortable, calming, clean, and provided a level of care beyond anything we've experienced in healthcare.
