I am so grateful that my father-in-law was able to spend his final days here. At first, living in Queens, we were concerned about him being so far out east, but we could not have asked for a better place for him. The staff was incredibly compassionate, attentive, and supportive, always making sure both his needs and our family’s needs were cared for. The environment was clean, peaceful, and comforting. We will always be thankful for the care he received here, and I would recommend this place again and again.

Absolutely disgraceful. The manager brought a pupil who was in training along for the admissions visit for in-home hospice. The manager said it was a learning experience and asked my mother to go outside so she could train her apprentice. Imagine telling a grieving family that a teaching exercise was most important, and in our home of all places. When I looked outside, two other employees were gleefully cackling over coffee on the patio. The nurse who came twice had terrible bedside manner, unable to answer any questions and escalating the visits into something far more stressful than they needed to be. Medications that were supposed to be sent that night were totally forgotten about, exacerbating our consternation. Be careful.

My father 103.8 was accepted into the Northwell Hospice program. Staff was wonderful and compassionate. Upon renewal to continue Dr. S. Freeman rejected my father from Northwell Hospice. 3 weeks later my father stopped eating & again was rejected from Dr. Freeman saying my father does not meet hospice criteria. Again rejected. Lost so much weight and fell and still he refused him. Once admitted into the hospital we were advised to start Hospice. They submitted to 2 other programs but accepting him. Dr. Freeman did NOT want my father (for some Unknown reason) into the program. His lack of hospice knowledge and cocky attitude accelerated to my father's decline. We will make sure this "pompous" Dr. is investigated and reported. Not only for my father but for other elderly patients. I can only hope Dr. Freeman's family Gets treated how he treated my father.

Our father in-law was very blessed to be accepted here. The staff and the space is dignified, peaceful and considerate of all needs. The rooms are elegantly decorated and the bed is a large single bed. They provide a portable cot bed and also the room has a chair that leans back for better rest for the guests. There is a shared lounge area, office/meeting room, meditation room, kitchen area with refreshments and endless coffee. There is a beautiful outdoor dining area and also indoor space to eat meals. Also a charging station for all kinds of devices.

We truly could not say enough good things about this hospice facility, its director, the nurses, the aides and all its staff. When my mother got really sick, we weren't so sure about sending her to a hospice. But a chance conversation with an ICU doctor helped us understand the hospice we would be going to would be incredibly caring, understanding and respectful. The doctor was right and more. The hospice provided excellent care for my mom in her last 2 weeks on earth - they always made sure she's comfortable and cared for in a respectful and dignified way. The nurses also provided much comfort and compassion to the family. They made sure we understood what was happening to our mother, what may lie ahead for her and responded tirelessly to each and every question and concern we have for her. Lastly, the environment of the hospice is warm, clean, restful and comfortable. For the families staying with their loved ones, there are common spaces like the sunroom, Cafe and terrace to take a breather or step away for a moment. No one ever thinks about going to a hospice - this place provides beautiful care and comfort to those would need it.
