Stopped by here out of historical curiosity. It was a little difficult to find initially due to it being such relatively understated marker but I figured it out. It’s interesting finding monuments and markers for interesting historical figures and events and this man’s history is definitely a complex one. Also it’s kinda neat that someone had left a little toy rocket in honor of his achievements in the space program. Totally worth seeking out if you like history, space and or science. but be respectful.

An underrated hero of the space race. It's an really nice walk, and easy to find. His grave is next to the paved path, so no need to wander among the othe plots like I did.

I loved the little paper clips and rocket left on von Braun's grave as momentos.
I would have rated it 5 star if the site had been marked better. All in all, it's a great cemetery and a cool part of history.

A serene setting for the man. Beautiful and understated. RIP

People that did NOTHING in their lifetime got/will get statues built after them. This man single handily got us to the moon and people don't even know who he is. Right down the block you will see a massive George Washington Masonic Monument and it makes you wonder if Wernher Von Braun will ever be remembered like him. I doubt It.
But direction are real easy The marker on this map is about 5 feet off. Go down the hill follow the GPS Coordinates on Walk Mode. Look for the only tall tree when you get to the bottom of the hill and boom you cant miss the grave.
If you have any questions please reach out and ill guide you. If you will be taking mass transit from DCA Airport its a 20 minute subway/bus ride.
Have a safe wonderful trip. Godspeed.
